Uploadz Nyx

After some planning, I am now coding a public version of the Uploadz file manager. I am a few weeks of going to private beta and I wanted to post you the design. If you dont know its pronounced its, "Uploadz Nicks" named after a greek goddess

Thanks Tim, its been removed now and sadly only gets tags longer than 3. The tags works from mysql now, randomly

The header in general or the colour? You can change the colour/style of the header, I just had pink when I took the picture.

Just wanted to tell you about the Website owner intergration.

If you own a website and would like to intergrate Uploadz into your website, you will earn "uPoints" based on Uploadz, bandwidth usage, downloads etc.

Firstly, you enter your domain. It is a bit like what Google do, you upload a file onto your main directory and then Uploadz will check to see if its there. Once that has confirmed that you own the website, you will be able to earn points for the usage of Uploadz on your website.

I am not sure what these uPoints will be worth but I have been thinking about rewards such as Flash memory or maybe cash. This is a idea mostly for forums but you could put it on your website if you use Uploadz.

very good idea, i'll have to apply that to mff when you release it coz it will be better than the current way we allow files to be uploaded onto uploadz through mff.

That tool has been finished, just need to add some more security bits on. Then ill work on the rewards / ranking part

mmm, yuh. Fixed ;) It was because I added the php navigation sort of thing, just needed to add a new var to the Javascript.

sadly not, I did do quite a bit if you can remember but that coding was a bit all over the place. This time round I am having everything in classes and functions making it much easier to update and code. I am going to get the frontend up for testing then I will roll out the backend bit by bit.

alpha beta will be coming out in about a week. The registration will be open for 20 places then close automatically. Once it has been fixed by any reports by the users, we will allow invites only (so many per user). Then leave that for a few weeks before becoming fully public.

Testing on Mac at the moment. Looking fine on Safari but I noticed there was a dead image, working as it should. IE 5.2 is totaly messed up, its a crap browser so I cant see many people using it anyway on Mac. The JS and some CSS doesnt seem to be working correctly. Firefox on Mac is also working perfectly.

IE on Windows seems to be ok, some fixed need to be made on the bandwidth-o-meter and a few other things on the right side. Firefox on Windows is working correctly.

Usergroups sort of. The elite isnt a usergroup its a extra field in the mysql. This saves the timestamp of when it is to expire.

I wont be coding for a few hours, depending on when I get my PC back up and running.

Tim (NintendoNews) is developing uWeb API and uHelp the Uploadz support desk for help such as copyright issues, errors or general Uploadz questions.

MyWeb has been changed to uWeb to fit in with the other "products". We have chosen the next version name that will be annouced in November.


I will update you with some screen shots tomorrow ;)

Uploadz Nyx will be online on 20th September where about 5 people will test until the 22nd. On the 22nd we will turn the invites system where the 5 people will be able invite 5 of their friends to test.
