We'd have to set up a code for every single member, those kinds of systems cost serious money which is why it takes a corporation (ie: Habbo) to do them. SMS is costly enough.

I think involving homephone causes problems because usually the bill is paid by the parents of the forum members that use it. With mobile phones we don't have this problem. Also most people have a mobile phone anyway so it isn't necessary to also have homephone lines.
