Why don't you make it transparent?
Also it's ok 7/10 Change the colour though if it was dark blue 9/10 :)

very nice, darken the blonde a bit though. 9/10 good for your 2nd re-colour

the colour changes rnt subtle enough. try toning them down a bit to make it seem less blocks of clour
They are actually two tones of yellow but you can't really see it :l
I will edit it tomorrow, bit busy atm, btw your sig is great

Hmm it does seem a bit bright.
His hair seems too blonde, I suggest darkening it a little. Quite good for your first try.
Try not use the default colours as most of them are very bright and ruin the picture, like the blue writing on your recoloured one on the magazine seems too bright and aqua, I suggest darkening that as well.
Although speaking of brightness, I now find that you made the back of his coat too dark. Just under his arm, it should be just a dark blue, but on your recoloured version it is practically black. Maybe lighten it up a bit?
On the hat I think you should've kept the same colour of the front of the hat where on the original picture it is grey, but you made it much darker which is uncalled for and there is a pink stripe for some reason.
So don't use default colours and use the contrast a bit better, don't clash colours. Overall 7/10 because it is your first.
Sorry for above, it maybe a bit harsh, but y'know :)
