Short sighted?

Well, it started off with me complaining to my mum that I couldn't see much from a distance. Then she just kept telling me to wait for the next time we go to opticians.

So it came to the point where we'd gone to the opticians and the guy said that I was short sighted, but only a little. He said that there is no worries at the moment, and I wont need glasses until later.

Well, now its come to the point where I can't see the writing on the T.V, and my sofa is a good couple of metres from the T.V.

I've spoken to my mum about it, and she said that I only -want- the glasses and my dad just agrees with her.

Do you think I need them... ? :P

yeh i heard you need a parent with you or something along those lines, i know for a fact there is an age limit for contact lenses. plus not everyone can have contact lenses as some people have eyes shaped as rugby balls therefore you cant have em like me

Don't get blue contacts if you are dark skinned. A boy from my school has them and he looks like Yoda on LSD...

I am shortsighted also, do you ever get headaches? I found this a problem so I took off to the opticions and got myself some glasses they have stopped the headaches because I dont have to manually focus my eyes. So I suggest yes get them! :D

Yeah! I usually get headaches, especially when I'm trying to focus on somthing.

I'm short sighted too but only a little, when i was at school i was getting really bad headaches when i was looking at the board. I went to the opticians and it turned out that i was a little short sighted. I'm 13 and my mum thought I just wanted them as a fashion acessory cos i got channel ones, a girl needs her labels lmao. So I strongly suggest you go before it gets even worse! :D

it doesn't matter whether you're just a little short-sighted or alot. as long as you're short-sighted, you need glasses/contacts. if you don't get them soon, it might worsen.

avoid watching tv/using the computer/reading (whatever eye activities) for long hours, take an eye break between them (just look out the window and relax your eyes). this is highly suggested as it can help maintain your short-sighttedness at where it is right now.

& lSander do you mean you have a -6.00 prescription, you must have really bad vision, both my eyes are -2.75s I think and I thought mine were bad enough O.O

i wear contacts 24/7
im -3.25
before i got contacts i had headaches everyday because i strained my eyes trying to see writing and tv etc
u dont need to wear glasses before u get contacts
after the first time u get the contacts in [can hurt a bit]
u gotta leave it for a week so your eyes adjust to it
although rare occasions peoples eyes are too small
