View Full Version : My Mind Is Settled
Made up my mind before the poll closed.
And I shall be getting the £600
Thanks for helping me making my decision !
Btw the PS3 bundle I was going to get was also £600.
With the £600 I shall be able to buy this year
The Darkness (£40)
BioShock : Collector's Edition (£50)
Haze (£40)
Halo 3 Legendry Edition (£70)
Crash Of The Titans (£30)
GTA IV : Special Edition (£50)
Kane and Lynch : Dead Men (£40)
All Halo 3 Limited Edtion Accessories (£130)
Half Life 2 : The Orange Box (£40)
Assassin's Creed (£40)
Xbox 360 Wireless Adapter (£60)
Does anyone else plan on getting these? I'll be happy to neddle you in Halo 3, or pop a cap in you in GTA IV.

I'm only being honest, but that's a RIDICULOUS amount of money to spend on games. You really won't be able to properly enjoy all of them...
If I were you I would really consider saving some money and leaving out:
Haze
Crash of the Titans
Kane & Lynch
Halo 3 accessories (the pads are ugly and wireless headsets are really crappy compared to the wired ones)
and if possible the Wireless Adapter.
That last one may be a necessity for you, but if you can wire up your 360 to your router it's a much smoother connection. Plus £60 is an extortionate amount to pay for something like that.
If you didn't get those that's £300 you can save or spend on something else. I don't know how old you are but trust me you'll appreciate having money in the bank when you get to 17/18!
I'm a sucker for Limited Edition stuff, and the pads I have right now are just so damaged.
I'll take out Crash Of the Titans though.
I might take out Haze as well.
Also my gaming room is upstairs and the router is downstairs so I think the wireless adapter is needed...
Also Kane and Lynch is from the guys who did Hitman, I have already pre-ordered it anyway.
And thanks for a suggestion, I'll put £100 away into the bank.

Yeah fair enough if you NEED the wireless adapter. When my PC moves out of my room I'll probably need one too (and shall buy one begrudgingly! Why couldn't MS have built-in WiFI?).
And Haze might have to be taken out whether you like it or not :P Ubisoft have just pulled the release dates of the PC and 360 versions (meaning it's pretty likely they'll be coming out a bit later on rather than at the same time as the PS3 version).
And you're welcome--I hope the saving pays off! I've always been a bit of a saver and I love knowing I have money aside for a car when I pass my test :D (insurance is another matter... I may have to sell some blood for that xD)
Could of said this in your other thread tbh..
I made my mind ages ago xD
Halo 3 - Standard
GTA4 - Limited Edition (Possibly)
Fable 2 - Standard
Assassins Creed - Standard
Two Worlds - Standard
I am pre-ordering Halo 3 and GTA4 on my birthday, buying Two World the day it comes out, donno when Fable 2 is out but probably next year and Assassins Creed I'm buying the day it comes out xD
God this year is gonna be expensive for you...
Should I take out Haze and replace it with Splinter Cell : Conviction

I'm not bothered, I get £30 a week from EMA and my birthday is August so I'll get loads of money from that aswell, I can get a job in GAME aswell to get discounts :P
So and expensive year but it's worth it, Two worlds looks awesome, GTA4 and Halo 3 are just games I'm getting no matter what and same with Assassins Creed and Fable 2 :P but Fable 2 comes out next year I think =[
I'm not into the whole RPG Fable thing etc.
Sure Oblivion but that's the only RPG I ever played.
I might get Mass Effect...

What a total waste of money, cut the list by half. Just buy your favourites as those are the ones you will actually play.

Half Life 2 : The Orange Box (£40)
Assassin's Creed (£40)

The rest I'll save up with/ put towards getting a BT Hub thing.

Really...? At my friend's house it works well with her Wii.

I hate it, BT + Wireless = Stupid and crap, it's not like, disconnecting all the time, it's just bad xD
Ah. Is Sky Broadband good?
I heard it's rather bad with wireless...

I dont have any problems with BT when it comes to internet on my 360 or wii, just on my computers for some reason :S.

I donno about Sky Broadband, Virgin is excellent, you should try get up a wire network, wireless cuts you're speed by loads

I was with NTL / VM for about 4 years, was abit slow and disconnected now and again, beats AOL though.
Yeah, that sounds cool.

AOL is the worst xD I never get d/c with NTL :S maybe I have a special line or something...My dad used to work for them hm
I'm switching to Sky though... and I need a wireless router, anyone recommend one?
200 quid on halo 3 lol wot a waste
My pads are crap anyways. Plus the headset I have now isn't wireless,
also I think Legendry Edition will be worth it.

As I said before... you really shouldn't get a wireless headset as the quality is mega-crappy.
As for the Legendary Edition... Well I guess your cat will enjoy the Mjolnir Helmet. The only Special Edition of a game I'll be buying this year is Bioshock (and that's just because it comes with a soundtrack, and I love OSTs :)).

I have a wireless headset, it's great, although I don't like that green halo one, it's ugly. Get the proper one :P
It's a lot louder than the original headset and you barely know its there when using it :P
Apparently I've heard GAME will do a bundle for all of the Halo 3 accessories for £105.
And anyway it looks a bit dull but like I said, I'm a sucker for Limited Edition stuff.

I also worked out that I'll have enough left over for an extra game, if I take out a few things.
Dunno what game to get though....

Right, this is a saying I've tried to keep to myself, and I think you should use it:
"Just because it's half-price, you don't need to buy twice as much."
Thanks for the suggestions once more, but I already own 2 wireless pads. One of them broke like 5 minutes ago (groan). Is there like a Microsoft Helpline for broken pads?
And anyway the one that's working has a broken battery pack, hell I wish I would never invite my baby cousin over ever again.
Plus the headset will cost around the same price as a regular one, and hell I love that kind of green.
Stephen!

Either you don't look after your stuff too well or it sounds like microsoft are charging expensive prices for cheaply put together gamepads and other accessories.

My fat cousin get's angry at the COUNTDOWN level on Rainbow Six. He keeps throwing the pads at the wall. One pad is broken, the other barely works, so I might as well 'Pimp My Xbox' get Halo 3 Pads and headset, the legendry edition and maybe the faceplate.
Also £70 for Halo 3. WILL BE WORTH IT
Legendary Edition Includes:
Highly collectible Spartan helmet
Two bonus discs containing:
Making of Halo 3 documentary
Creative design process featurettes
Audio/Visual Calibration Tool
Remastered cinematic material from Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2 with developer commentaries
Day in the Life at Bungie featurette
Exclusive content from Red vs. Blue and This Spartan Life
Collection of original Halo 3 storyboard art from artist Lee Wilson

But it's all just cinematics and hours of videos? o.O
Yes well I'll have loads of free time during October, all of my subject teachers have said October is 'No Homework Month' or something or other.
I'll proberly own people online and then have a quick watch of the hours of video and crap.
Also the helmet will proberly fit my cat.
P.S I also couldn't be bothered finishing Halo 1 and 2
if your Xbox is still under warranty, MS will replace your pad.
Oh godammit..... I forgot to buy extended warrenty. But I heard they extended the warrenty due to the Red Ring Of Death appearing everywere.

The helmet would probably kill your cat, I can't imagine it being very light and it's made to fit the slot the game and stuff goes in, which is a rectangle shape, no way in hell will it fit on your cat
Note to self : don't suffocate the bloody cat.

If your cat starts to bleed, I think that's a cue not to continue forcing the helmet on it.

There's no way I'd pay 70 quid for that.

Same, just a waste, the helmet isn't wearable so it'll just gather dust, no one is dumb enough to put the game back in because it's way too much effort :P
Standard will be fine for me, only limited edition game I'm getting it GTA4
I'll take that advice Bear. But I won't force the helmet upon him, proberly just keep the whole package away from any small being.
Also, the Legendry Edition is $129.99 in America, so I think we're getting it quite cheap.

The only Limited Edition of a game I currently own is Perfect Dark Zero. The shiny metal case makes up for the badness of the game :)

OMGZ I didn't know it looked like that! THX!! :O
Yeah as a launch title its okay, but when you compare it to titles like Gears, Lost Planet, COD3 and such it's pretty forgettable.

Yea, well I prefer Perfect Dark to Gears tbh xD F.E.A.R. deffinatly comes way before xD or ANY Call of Duty game :P
F.E.A.R scared the living hell out of me.
Quickly traded it for Rainbow Six.
PDZ is terrible, and I couldn't get into FEAR.

F.E.A.R. is the only form of media entertainment that has scared me (apart from when I was like under 10 lol)
