I'd be gutted if he does go :(

His agent has denied it: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/a/arsenal/6743165.stm

So there's a bit of hope it wont happen..

That would be a real loss for Arsenal if he does go although like posted above his agent has denied it. I guess we'll find out within the next day or so.

It's about time, he's been borderline disgraceful in recent times (comments to media). It seems he's forced himself out in an ingenious fashion.

Roll on new era.

"I have read the article in the French magazine and there is not one element of truth in the story and they will be hearing from my lawyers
Henry's agent Jerome Anderson"

In bbc news article.

He won't go, if he does it's not just a massive loss to Arsenal, but the PRemiership also. He's one of the flagship players for the Prem, still I don't think he will go..

EDIT: that interview link u said is almost 2 weeks old. Out of date. :D

Arsenal dont really need him one man cant really change a team. He's been injured most of the season anyway and Arsenal have won plenty of games without him. The youngsters will start to come good with their experience. Although Henry will be missed for his running and shooting abilities.

If Henry goes does that mean that Eto'o will go to Arsenal.

Anway it's only reports so no-one knows.

Big loss for Arsenal. Arsenal only ever play well when he's playing.
also 16 or 17 million isn't alot of money compared to some players at his calibre.

I think he's past his best now, and from here on he's only gonna get worse and worse. In my opinion, Arsenal are best if they just cash in now and spend the money wisely (Wenger normally does) rather than keep him until he's worth nothing.

Don't you believe it.

I hope he doesn't go, he's been the centre of Arsenal for what, 8 years now?

& it's 16m.

Its in the papers this morning that hes gone for 16m.

If Darren Bent is worth 17-18m then Henry is worth atleast 22m.

How can you say hes past it? LOL.
226 goals in 364 games. Thats not bad going if you ask me.

and how many times has he got Arsenal out of loosing games? I remember when it was Arsenal V Man U when he scored 2 with like 5 minutes to go, probably because of Bartez lol.

Hes been a well good player, and I bet he hits it off with Ronaldinho and Barcelona.

Arsene Wenger to go to Barcelona I bet.

Ive been a lifelong gooner and Im not at all worried, we wont go anywhere but remain one of the best english clubs there is as we have proved for over a century. When Ian Wright left the club, he was our record goalscorer and we coped fine :) Bring on next season, now Henry is gone Van Persie can step into the spotlight and show the premiership we continually produce fantastic football with end results!

Tbh Arsenal needs to become a team again, with Henry they was slowly starting to become one man

However with the youngsters and people such as Cesc they are looking like to become the best team in the Uk for the future, they just need to replace Henry and form a base team :)

Henry played something like 5 games last Season and Arsenal did perfectly fine. Wenger should bring in some new signing this season and Van Persie can finally show his stuff with nothing holding him back. Ian Wright crisis all over again and it resolved itself.

This is a major loss for the english game, he’s a hell of a player.

Last season, he played 5 games? And the Premiership was easily the best league in Europe, and probably the world, Henry is no loss. Even though he was a great player, he's getting on abit now and will start too loose hispace. Arsenal will also cope fine as they have tonnes of superb players comign through, they're going to be one of the best teams in europe again within the next few years.

Seems quite cheap for a player of his class.

It will be a shame if he does go.

Barclays Premiership Arsenal 16(1) 10 1 0

He played 16 and scored 10 games and He's exciting to watch so in MY opinion he's a big loss to the English game.

English game is still the best in Europe.

English league isn't the best... La Liga is fantastic to watch and has better players. Serie A has some exceptional players too. I don't think Henry is past it in any sense, but his negative influence had to go.

Looks like you gotta change your signature.

Ontopic; I'm kinda happy, gives Manchester united in future games to own arsenal, :)

i dont agree
english league has that reputation of being an agressive league with players who like a tackle, la liga players dont like a tackle and neither do serie a

Jamie!

i'd hate to be a supported of a team in serie a, it must be one of the most boring leagues. the football played there is too defensive.

Well the English league may be the most intense but football isn't just about tackling. England may have the better teams, but the good-to-bad ratio (compare ManUTD to Watford) is far worse.

Simmzay

I don't think they will struggle at all. I mean, stastically they won more games without Henry than they did with him (56%>48%). Thierry Henry had a detrimental effect on the other players, he was too demanding to players of such little experience. But they do need a replacement and it doesn't need to be like-for-like.

Anelka's been great at his role at Bolton, not only scoring but creating. Composed, experienced and going for a rational fee. Then another player of Reyes' calibre on the wing, and some stability in defence - they should be able to compete again.

The need in defence is somewhat more worrying IMO.
