View Full Version : America, world police.

I just wrote this for someone on the topic that America tries to be world police. It was on MSN so there's no capital letters.
my speech is on america, and they're annoying tactics to try and 'control the world'.
i believe that america are the causes of world war 3, not iraq or afghanistan. i believe that the evil dictator, sadam, was wrong to do what he did, but what was also wrong is america trying to go in and solve it. i believe that iraq didn't ask for help from america so why should they butt in and do whatever they like? i know why, because they are power-mad and will do anything that involves guns and war.
another thing that ticks me off is how britain joins in and does whatever america does. i mean; we're an independant nation[s] and we should make our own decisions without america telling us what to do. remember, we once 'controlled' america as the british empire so if anything, shouldn't it be the other way around? i guess not.
america claim they went into iraq and afghanistan to "fight the war on terror" and to "find weapons of mass destruction". i believe the only weapon of mass destruction is america, and the only terror to come from all this is the terror that the family's of the dead that they have to face on a daily basis because america decided to go to war.
i believe the real reason why america went to war with the countries is not to restore peace, but to use their power to get the oil that is found in the middle-east. sure enough, they never found any "weapons of mass destruction" as it was just an allaby for america to invade.
nuclear weapons is another thing about america. they say that they're allowed them but other countries aren't incase they do something dangerous with them, ha, the only dangerous thing around here is america. russia, korea - they have nuclear missiles and are, rightly so, not getting rid of them until america does so.
i don't know about the american dream, but i do know about the american nightmare. the nightmare that iraqi citizens face on a daily basis. the nightmare that the family's of dead have to face on a daily basis.
global warming? hardly. there's nothing warm, nothing humble about the world we live in today, nothing at all.
If you took time to read all of it, then great, tell me what you think.
If not, then tell me what you read and what you think anyway.

i think you have no grasp of "there, their and they're" and haven't looked at both sides of the coin.

There's nothing wrong with my "there, their and they're" unless you're reading it differently.
There isn't much to America's side of the coin.

ermm I have only read the first sentence and can see one mistake with there, their and they're ;)
" my speech is on america, and they're annoying tactics to try and 'control the world'."
NOPE!!! It's "and their annoying tactics..." otherwise it reads "and they are annoying tactics..."
And there are always two sides to an argument. If you don't realise that then there isn't much point in reading your side ;).

Agree a bit, it is annoying how America's like "RUSSIA!!!!!!!!!!!! COMMUNISM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GET!!! THEM!!!!!!" Maybe they should be a little more concerned with themselves, especially with all these hurricanes and what.

no, because we whooped your butts in this little thing called the Revolutionary War. now, i'm not sure if people in the U.K. live in a parallel universe, but usually when someone kicks your butt, they're the boss of you. if a disgruntled employee comes into work with a gun pointed at his boss, the employee has the power, even though the boss used to "control" the employee.
not to mention that was more than 200 years ago.

that's just rhetoric and not proving anything.

That is just one persons opnion but many people do believe some of that. America is starting to turn into the worlds big brother in that they must police everything or be incharge of everything and if you stand up to them or have a problem with them then your an enemy

I actually love the U.S I've been there many times its an awsome place but at the same time I am pretty patriotic (sp?) and love my country ! I don't get why so many people blame the U.S for our involvement (sp?) our Prime minister does have a brain of his own

I don't see America being a "World Police" as a particularly bad thing. It could be much worse. America the World Criminal. I'd much rather have the USA on our side than being a threat.

I wouldn't say you're the boss of us but if you guys said jump, I'd definately say "How high?"

Please don't make the foolish assumption that all Brits are of this opinion, in the same way that you don't want everyone else making the assumption that all Americans are fat and lazy.

Yeah it's the only time you got a they're/their/there wrong, but factually and otherwise grammatically it's still a nightmare.

I was doing it for someone on MSN to get them out of deep crap so and it's a speech so it doesn't have to be that good gramatically.
It took me about 5 minutes without research so it's probably wrong.

You say America caused WW3, there hasn't been one. America, Britain - Iraq and what ever is not a world war. France, Germany, Japan, China, Australia and many others aren't in the Middle East war so it is NOT a world war

It should be changed really;
"America are the causes of what could turn out to be, world war 3".
Like I said, it was last night and quick so no research nor checks :)

There is no WW3 :P They may be quite power-mad, but however you do mention we ruled a large amount of the world. We acted similarly :P

America do influence us. However, hopefully that will change. Tbf, the EU has too much influence
america claim they went into iraq and afghanistan to "fight the war on terror" and to "find weapons of mass destruction". i believe the only weapon of mass destruction is america, and the only terror to come from all this is the terror that the family's of the dead that they have to face on a daily basis because america decided to go to war.
America were acting largely in retalliation to the murder of thousands. You can understand their position in this.

Everywhere wants and needs oil. This has been a problem for years. Many of these countries fight amongst themselves for oil. I fair agree with you there.
nuclear weapons is another thing about america. they say that they're allowed them but other countries aren't incase they do something dangerous with them, ha, the only dangerous thing around here is america. russia, korea - they have nuclear missiles and are, rightly so, not getting rid of them until america does so.
Again, your quite right. Double standards. Who decides whos allowed nuclear weapons? Although, who would you consider a more stable nation. America, or North Korea?
i don't know about the american dream, but i do know about the american nightmare. the nightmare that iraqi citizens face on a daily basis. the nightmare that the family's of dead have to face on a daily basis.
Personally, I think the American's (largely) are trying to help the Iraqi's.

Can't really comment on that :P The equator is fairly warm though ;)

Read above post :).
Thing is, we did rule a large amount of the world.. America don't and therefore shouldn't act as if they do really.
America do influence us. However, hopefully that will change. Tbf, the EU has too much influence
I hate the EU, and maybe Brown will have sense and withdraw our troops.
America were acting largely in retalliation to the murder of thousands. You can understand their position in this.
I can understand why they wanted to do it, I just feel they should've left them to deal with it themselves, after all they are an independent nation and should only have help when they ask for it themselves.
Everywhere wants and needs oil. This has been a problem for years. Many of these countries fight amongst themselves for oil. I fair agree with you there.
10-20 years and we're doomed, in big crap.
Again, your quite right. Double standards. Who decides whos allowed nuclear weapons? Although, who would you consider a more stable nation. America, or North Korea?
America is stable, but they're using nuclear missiles as a threat.
Personally, I think the American's (largely) are trying to help the Iraqi's.
Yes, they are trying to help but many innocent civilians have been killed en route to helping Iraq.
Can't really comment on that :P The equator is fairly warm though ;)
Haha, I meant that warm fuzzy feeling :)

Sadly, it's true, even though most people in this country don't want to be involved at all in world affairs anymore...

Okay, I believe that America went to fight against the middle-east to defend themselves && get what they wanted. After 9/11 attacks, yes, it was a bad idea to go && fight but also, a good idea. If they hadn't attacked, more terrorist attacks could've been caused because the middle-east will believe that America won't do anything to protect themselves. Also, causing harm to their country. But then it makes the problem A LOT bigger. If they had, as they did, go && attack the middle-east, they show the middle-east who's boss. They went in for what they wanted && to stop the middle-east from attacking their country && it worked but caused other countries to get involved && caused problems where they are.
I think that America did what they had to do.

Russia, China or the United States in charge?
Not a hard choice..
Bush will be gone in about 1 year and we'll have our friendly and fair american relationship back.
