8Freak8 - AGM?

Hey,

I'm just interested to know why 8freak8 is still the assistant General Manager? He hasn't been on the forum since 04-06-2007 09:48 AM not sure if thats 6th of June or 4th of April.. it's obvious he isn't doing anything for Habbox. Some management in the other thread stated that he was a valued member of staff or something so he is still in management because of some reason, I'll get the quote now. I don't see him managing anything at the moment, if he's not doing anything you'd think he would resign / get the flick.

If he uses the invisibility option and only posts in the staff forums then it'll show that he hasn't done anything since his last post in the public forums.
But he might be on a holiday or he helps MAD and others via MSN.
He did say he was leaving but he would hang around a bit to help to the new GM.

When someone uses the invisible option it doesn’t show when they were last active, unless you have permission to view invisible users, look at Sierks profile.

He reserves that post because of what he did for Habbox,

8freak8 is not going to get fired. He did a lot for Habbox for a very long time. If he wants to resign, he can. Theres no pressure on him at all. Over time, he will probably get his access removed but for the moment, its staying incase he feels like helping around :).

Its not really harming anyone anyway :P.

I think I remember that he was fired for inactivity and it turned out, apparently, that he had informed Habbox that he had internet problems. I think Eckuii said this himself somewhere recently.

Invisible shows "Last active" as N/A, you can't see that of course because you are a SMod, so it shows when he last last active for you :P

I have two things to say about this.

Freak wanted to resign from Habbox, and only accepted the role of AGM as a favour to sierk.
Freak "resigned" (or stepped down as people are saying) so he could pull away from Habbox, and get on with his real life. Which is fair enough.

After all the work Freak did for Habbox; which was a hell of a lot, and no matter what any of you say he was a damn good GM and had Habbox flying... yes he had his bad points but don't we all?

However I obviously (if you read my other thread) do not like how influential freak is over Management. He chose to leave Habbox therefore, even though I think he should still have a say, I do not believe that his word should be taken as the "final" decision, and other people's opinions should still count. Such as if one AGM says Yes, and Freak says No, this should not be a vito, as I suppose you could say that freak is just a VIP with powers...

He does deserve the position of AGM, but he clearly doesn't want it and as MAD says, he will be relieved of his powers eventually.

Well you have to be fair about this no-one else is quite as well qualified as 8freak8 to do this as he was GM for a year, or maybe more and so can help the present GM along the right path and settle in. Also I know he had quite a big operation earlier in the year so maybe he has had to have more or something?

Indeed, I can see the basic staff forums.

When properclone left as a GM, I believe he stayed on as AGM for a little while, firstly to help the new GM settle in, and secondly, so he still has a minor influence (hopefully it's only minor in this case too) for his background knowledge, it's a big jump going from either Manager to site management, or site management or General manager; so any advice is always welcome from past members of staff who've had that role.

Actually, sadly enough the amount of people with that kind of skill is seriously limited. It was a (possibly small) factor in why MAD got GM I think. We don't have enough people who can code. And we've tried poking people for ideas before, it didn't work out too well, the result was them instinctively biting off our fingers. Hence "8"Freak"8", an 8 fingered, 8 toed freak because of the times he poked staff members and members..

As for Freak, he retains his position because

A) He was asked to.
B) He played a huge role.
C) He is the only real one who is completely prepared for this role.

You have to understand that nowadays this job is absolutely massive. Only a few weeks before we had said we were up the creek without a paddle without Freak, he resigned like a week later. However MAD has coped pretty well. The fact remains though that Freak is the only one who actually knew pretty much *everything*. The site details, the little ins and outs of the site, the ins and outs of staff, knowledge on previous (and fired) staff. Sierk was not on that much and MAD has been concentrating on the forum thus far, so Freak was the only one with purview over everything. Therefore, he was given the job to assist with decision-making so that management could make an educated decision.

Also, I think he was asked to stay on and originally requested to leave entirely, but agreed to stay on in an advisory capacity.

I think Habbox is pretty much ok for pages now, they just need updating, which is just uploading an image, copy and pasting a line of code and editing it to show the changes. I can do that and loads of others can? I think 8Freak8 wanted me to become Head Web Designer once come to think of it, and I was going to help code sites, but I am terrible at doing what I am told, and too busy :P

Most the pages are in HTML? Joomla! as far as I was aware, makes making/editing and adding pages easy... The only PHP things I guess, are the Rare Values, which are being dealt with by the RVR?

How is Habbox edited, through Joomla! or some FTP client?
