1. Removed from the system.

They say that the server keeps getting bigger, so why not remove members.

I think though before they remove them they should give the inactive account owners and email stating if they do not active their account within a week it will be removed.

Nothing. When you create an account you should withhold the right to decide how often you use that.

And what if it was staff or something who was moving house and didn't have a connection for a few months or something? Due to circumstances, should people lose their accounts?

might as well keep it in place. if that person one day returns they may use it. plus it allows people to have more and more intresting names

All unconfirmed members are deleted anaually, I believe.

Put yourself in the person's shoes, Let's say you've lost your internet connection for 6 months, and there was a 4 month inactivity limit, you also had no way of getting onto internet on a different computer - therefore, completely restricted from the forum.

You come back after 6 months to HxF, and realise your account has gone, you didn't have many posts on there, but it was a start, and also you realise the name you had originally, has also gone.

How would you react?

You never know when a user may return ;)

What if a user only posted in the spam forum :) Left and decided to come back. 0 post count.

you should of worded it right,

I think he means the user has 0 posts or threads and HAVENT logged on for a year at least.

You have a valid point but I think he is actually only talking about people that sign up and then do nothing at all and never log in again. I imagine that after 12 months it is highly unlikely that the person would remember their name let alone their password.

Perhaps Earthquake should either start again being more specific or ask a Smod to edit the poll.

If we're talking correct wording..

Perhaps they are reserving the account for a later date.

What booking it a year in advance? Well thats hardly fair either for people who are active on the forum either. I would estimate that the odds on somebody returning after logging on once and never returning are 1000s'/1

just leave it as it is.. if you want a certain name, just make a variation of it.

I think maybe those accounts which have not been online for a long time (a year or so) and have no posts should be deleted, as the owner obviously doesn't care about the account...

If an inactive user is emailed then they would mostly probably come back if not atleast look at the forum. So they would no longer be inactive and would complain about their names being changed. So if you want to remove their account, do it without them knowing. :P

Why did you vote on your own poll?

MAD votes on his polls so why can't Earthquake?

Who the hell is going to want your respect if you go around moaning at people like that anyway?
