I think its so if they go wrong they have another day to sort it.

The trax machine was a perfect example of why not to do it on a friday, it came out, didn't work, so we had to wait until monday for it to be fixed.

The hotel didn't close on Christmas day to give us all our Christmas 2006 badges, and that was given out to a good few thousand people.
