Yes, in some stores they already banged up the age limit..

Asda used to sell them to 16's but now only 18's.

this is not anything related to the smoking in public spaces ban though, the limit is going to be 18s by 2008.

also dont smoke at bus stops, as its a public building apparently.

Yeh I think they are actually increasing the age of smoking to 18.

I don't smoke and hate it with a vengeance and therefore love the smoking ban. However, I think it's pretty ironic how a 16 year old can go get married, have a house and kids but can't legally smoke...

hate how smokers are complaining that they are going to have to go stand outside a bar in the middle of winter to have a ***.. get over it, you're only gunna be outside for 2min.

Smokers moaning about it annoys me because it's a personal decision. They don't have to smoke, but if they must, they have to smoke outside.

Not by 08 i belive, but still goto a *** house? Or get patches? The goverment are going to be providing them for free.

Also i agree that people complain they need to go outside its skank, they would rather stay inside in the warm effecting other peoples health more than there own then go outside get slightly cold and wet and only effect there health. self centerd or what?

They are increasing the age to 18 in October actually I think ;)

Edit:

It is illegal to sell tobacco to anyone under the age of 16. [The Children and Young Persons (Protection from Tobacco) Act 1908] The age is set to rise to 18 from the 1st October 2007.

I'm glad about it, really glad. Smokers are so ignorant and rude it's unbelievable. There was something on TV yesterday when there was a non smoke and a smoker on, and the non smoker was saying how she had to go home in the middle of a wedding after party because she was so annoyed with the smoke, she couldn't stand it. Then the smoker said well no one made you go to the party, why should we leave because of you. It's an infringment on our rights and stuff. I was like eurgh shut your gob. :@

I agree (:

I think another law which is ironic is that you can have sexual intercourse at 16 and do various sexual things but you can't actually watch sexual intercourse (**** ect.) until you are 18 o.O

Yeah, I remember a shopkeeper asking me what I'll do when the buying age rises to 18 in October.

Neither law changes bother me at all, I prefer to smoke outside and I'll be 18 at the beginning of November. Unlucky to the kiddy smokers, though. ;)

the age-limit for smoking has always been 18 in singapore, lol. i hate teens who think they're cool just because they smoke. i hate smokers overall. the rise in age-limit is good, might as well rise it to 21 while they're at it. lol, but hey, not everyone will honestly listen to the law.

not ALL smokers are ignorant rude and unbelievable. fine, anyopne who goes on hxf is completely stupid and i hate them. i dont go around saying that. you cannot call a huge population of the world stupid, there are people 500x more clever than you who smoke. its a personal choice and habit that people enjoy. YOU get over it.

Personally i think there should be pubs that can apply for a licsence where they can smoke, where you have smoking bar people ect ect then its not a problem and people cant argue cus of the smoke.

Im glad tbh. Passive smoking will be mega reduced, which is good for young children and non-smokers. I've never seen the appeal of putting cancer into your body really:S
