i'm not a fan of smoking.... and normally move when my friends smoke around me but i do feel sorry for them... i mean smoking is an addiction and if they can't in college or anywhere near the college grounds (considering its next to town , shops etc) how are they going to survive..... and the gits are too lazy to quit

It will certainly be interesting how many people follow this law, or actually get punished for breaking it.

FlyingJesus

Well seeing as how the establishments will enforce it, I'm sure it'll be followed by everyone.

I agree that it will overtime, I just wondered as from wherever I seem to go, I enter a non-smoking establishment yet still encounter smokers breaking that rule.

where i live in Canada it is, but people still avoid the rule. It's not really enforced.

I was smoking outside Asda under the shelter thing yesterday while my mate went in there to get a few things and people were giving me stinking looks and then i saw a non-smoking sign, it was hardly affecting them, prats.

Smoking ban is annoying, they myswell control us like robots and take all our human rights away.

rofl, there's something like maybe 12 people a year die of passive smoking, if that. I can die from lots of things, passive smoking is hardly going to be the thing to finish me off.

Thets just say the pub my dad was in never even knew about the ban... when i went in for a **** everyone was smoking aay and didnt give a **** so **** england and their pathetic rules because they dont like smokers, it isnt the ******* smokers fault their so addicted because their ****** of a friends have pushed them ******* into it.

Jamesy
02-07-2007, 07:09 AM
well maybe the ******* morons should learn to say no? Get some will power. If i told you to jump in front of a car because im your "****** of a friend" then you wouldnt do it?

and the big SMOKING THIS WILL KILL YOU AND CAUSES CANCER AND YES YOU WILL DIE on the packet should act as a final warning.

Sure it may be partly to do with "******* friends" But they have a choice to say no.

this rule has already been enforced in singapore quite some time ago. however, not everyone follows it, people still get away with a few smokes here and there, even if it means risking a fine of $1000, lol.

Oh p-lease, we have free will, just because people fail doesn't mean they can just go and blame it on someone else, people need to take responsibility for their actions.

Sthu dont cuss what you cant attune to.

Anyway Smokefree is an absolute crap rule i reckon.

Yeh i agree with some places like in companys etc big buisnesses but srsly?

In pubs ? And clubs ? Kind of takes the pss tbh. "I jus need a smoke i r brb standing in the soaking wet so i can smoke init" Takes the mick srsly. And the stupidiest thing is if someone owns a pub with a smoke room in seperate to the main room. They still cant smoke in it ROFL. That just defeats the object of the thing :l. I mean if people dont want to "INHALEZ DA SMOKE" Then they arn't going to go into a smoke room are they. So half of this stupid law is absolute ridiculous, And half of it i agree with like the companys i think thats a bit fair. But i dont agree with the company cars and transport etc.

Your an idiot mate. You cant just get over something. Its like taking off your bell and going deal with it? Srsly.
It takes time to come off it if your addicted properly :/ Its not just lke *THROWZ SMOKEZ IN BIN* thts all im done end of. Some of you are really thick tbh. Another example is Nat aka Extor "wow you dun care bout passive smoking" You probably have more chance of being eaten by a shark than dieing of passive smoking.

I couldn't be happier about the new ban that started on Sunday. Smoking is a filthy and selfish habit, because it affects the health of those nearby.

I also get the feeling it's going to be enforced quite tightly. I for one was told when I was working that we need to "actively police smokers" on the premises. When the police arrive they can issue a £50 fine and if it gets taken to court for any reason, that jumps to £200.

You're wrong.

"Every year 1,200 people in the UK (three a day) die due to passive smoking at work"

That's at work, there's also this:

"Second hand smoke is one of the main sources of indoor pollution. Exposure to second-hand smoke at home causes the deaths of 2,700 20 to 64 year-olds in the UK every year. This equates to a total of 30 people dying from passive smoking each day. Two of the 30 are victims in the workplace; this figure is twice the number of deaths caused by workplace accidents."

http://www.thesite.org/drinkanddrugs/drugsafety/smoking/passive/smoking

That's more than 12.

some of them rules are stupid.
the owner of a private establishment cant allow members to smoke?
a taxi driver cant smoke in his/her own car - even when alone?
