Who else does it? I do it mostly for cultural reasons, I can't mix it with baccy, because to me it's a sacred herb, know what i'm saying. Crack and other drugs such as nicotein and alcohol only make the world ill, ganja make the world chill..

Man I don't know if you know, but in my culture we see weed as the only PURE thing there is, a sacred herb, if you mix yourself with the impurities of coke you are no longer pure. I think I can restrain myself. I do not do it often, its for my meditation, for me to really connect :)

Not always it doesn't. Just because he takes one drug doesn't mean he'll eventually try others, that's a naive view that's taught to you to make you not want any at all.

I personally have tried others, but that's out of my own free will, not because I got "hooked" and needed something else. Marijuana isn't all that addictive really, so you don't often get that sort of thing happening unless you smoke it all day for a week or something.

This guy however, has said that his culture perceives it as pure, and all other drugs as bad things. Also note that coke is nowhere near that expensive any more.

Not illegal for me :) Weed is part of my culture you can't get addicted to it, stop only thinking what school tells you it's right, imagine if they did legalize marijuana, the government wouldn't make as much money, because everyone that smokes nicotein or drinks alcohol would go to the healthier option of smoking marijuana, government would lose BILLIONS, cigs alone is a billion dollar industry, would the government really give that up? so they tell your schools to teach you and your kids about how bad marijuana is, in a hope that no one protests and says legalize the green. Obviously they can't slap a tax on marijuana, people will just grow it. If the government is really worried about people smoking marijuana. legalize it. Sell it at pharmacys, just get people off the streets. Feel me?

Judging on the post he made about "Haile Selassie I" and "Jah" (who are one and the same, might I add) he is a member of the Rastafari movement. I assume you are familiar with members of this group and their belief that they should be allowed to smoke cannabis?
It's a symbol of their religion and is used to purify the body and bring them closer to Jah, who is essentially their version of Jesus (to put it simply and hardly accurately, but still - you get the idea!).

For those saying they'd never do drugs, but do drink - alcohol is much more dangerous than marijuana.

Alcohol and tobacco (if they weren't legal) would be classed higher than marijuana due to their effects on the body and mind. The only reason they're legal is because they've been legal for so long and the government gets so much revenue from them that illegalising them would cause economic crisis.

Yes, alcohol does have a worse affect than stuff like weed. But as you said, the amount they get from tax etc makes it worthwhile so it stays legal.

I think about 90-95% of the music(mainly rock & rap, not so much pop) artists have done drugs or generally do drugs. It is believed it gives them a lot more creativity, and if great songs are getting produced then I have no complaints.

Haha, you people don't know much about drugs I see. Getting in debt with dealers only happens when you get addicted to something that's expensive, and weed is neither highly addictive or expensive. Also, I'm interested in knowing how it ruins your life Kyle? As an 11 year old I don't expect you to know much about.. well, anything, but hey I might as well educate if I can.

THE IDEA THAT MARIJUANA IS A "GATEWAY DRUG"
this idea is completely false. end of. the reason that cannabis may end up as a "gateway drug" is because of the people they end up mixing with due to the drug's prohibitation. ie/ a 15 year old thinks "hey i wanna get stoned!" but to do this he has to go down town and meet up with a dealer who only cares about money. after months of persuasion the dealer forces heroin upon him and the child disappears from society. therefore, most people who do heroin DID start with cannabis, but this doesn't mean that most people who do pot end up on heroin. it doesn't work both ways.

Weed.....I love it. I dont care wether its spin (got baccy in it) or not.
Its cheap, Its relaxing. My average on smoking is almost 6-7 times a week. and im doing fine. Got a job, doing well in grades, good with parents.
It has different effects on different people.

Now with other drugs such as xtc, speed, cocaine & acid (LSD)
I HARDLY do them. acid is soooooo F***ed up. xtc's good same with speed n cocaine.
But i havent done them for months... except xtc did that on saturday :)
But what makes weed stand out from all other drugs is that;
1. Its cheap
2. It is not physically addictive
3. No one has o.d from it. (over dosed)
4. It relaxes you.

Im not saying you should do it. But im just defending it from people who say that it RUINS YOUR LIFE. Seriously, live a little. :rolleyes:

I have tried smoking quite a few times, seeming as my m8s did and my family does and i drink alcohol socially not like every friday,saturday night only on special events, am not saying the herb is bad or good, just that you only live once in my religion depending on your karma, but i do wanna try it once when am older and in amsterdam :)
