Okay I'm wondering why America gets things cheaper.
For example a Nintendo Wii game in America is $50-60
A Nintendo Wii game in the UK is £40
The exchange rate is roughly
£1 = $2
So $50 / 2 = £25. They are getting £15 off.
Or $60 / 2 = £30 They are getting £10 off.
Why is this ?

Probley they are made over there? So less tax and no shipping ect.
Not sure though. Or maybe the UK just like to rip us off :D

It's because they don't have taxes I thought O.O
It is like duty free items, they are cheaper because no taxes.

Plus the pricing is different in America.
Where as we might get a bottle of fizzy pop for 70p in America they would price a bottle (as a guess) around $1
Just like on Deal or No Deal in the UK the top prize is £250,000 whereas the American version is $1million.
Get what I mean?

Yeah you're right, everything is cheap over here (well, 90% of things)
Most things that you pay in dollars here you'd pay in pounds in the UK.
and at above, $1.25 is approximatly 75p... that's the same, if not more than America.

you just have to pay the tax added onto the original price here.. so it's like
"oh, it's going to be under $18..."
"clerk: $18.13"
"me: crap.. where's that quarter"

We tend to get charged more anyway.
Thats partially why people don't want the euro. Fear that everything will rise in price.

Uk just has a strong economy brought on by high taxes..... but fear not...
just because its expensive here... it means you can move to the US or places like new zealand and you can become rich! rich! with the funds you brought from the UK.

Stuff is generally cheaper there. That's why they have big houses and look well off.
tax is added onto that price in america though, same in canada

What I like about USA is that If a Hosting company allows UK clients you can get it cheap as the exchange rate is different. I remember that they don't add the VAT/Tax to the items on shelf's like drinks, coffee until the till which got very confusing with me.
