Just solder them to each ternimal of a battery, just for something to do really... There isnt much you can do with 4 LED's.

what would you do if you had more then?

Make a gameboard like I did for school in year 7. You make it so when nails are joined by a conductor (counter) the LED lights will turn on.

i will be, its weird, i made this thing at a uni (went for a day) and it uses 4 AAA batteries and needs 3 x 180 resistors, 1 x 390 resistor and some weird yellow thingy

edit: http://img66.imageshack.us/img66/1821/untitled1do9.png (http://imageshack.us) the green are the 180 resistors and the other colour is a 390 resistor

i'd still use resitors on the leds better safe then sorry. you always remove them later if they reduce the power to much.

I'll get some photos or explain my game board idea in a second.
Watch this post for edits.

ah okay so I remember now

You create a gameboard layout on the computer using little squares and images and stuff.
Print it off and stick it to an a4 size mdf
Mark 2 holes in random squares (pick some random squares that will be important in the game and two marks in each that are relatively close together) and single holes outside the game path where you want the LEDs to be.
The hole couples in the squares will be your squares that activate the LEDs.
Drill through the LED holes and for the activation holes hammer some nails in. These nails will act like part of a switch and when the counter piece (which will have a conductor as its base) moves over them the circuit will be complete forcing certain lights to glow.
It was really simple and turned out okay for a beginners job

Its kinda lame but it is just something to do :P You can get creative with it too.
