There is plenty of them, and if someone wants one so bad they could just gather funds from other things and the local muslim community instead of taking our money, and it is our money because thats why we [Well our parents] and relitivies pay taxes... man, over here in singapore, if the government wanted to build a church, a mosque, a buddist or hindu temple, nobody really complains, because we have something called racial harmony over here. we have like, mosques, churches & temples side by side to each other, which is something you rarely see.

I totally agree with you mate. I live in the town were they are building it. And its not east london. Its on the outskirts of london. But ye its a pretty amazing building. Once it is complete will be the biggest mosqe in europe. Its a spectacular building but it does dominate the skyline of practically everywere you go in the town. They are being strict on it though. The council made them pull down a £20,000 wall i think because it was several mm to high. So they are being VERY strict. And on websites the town is described as a prodmently multicultural town. Common it used to be a holiday destination for Queen Victoria. Should be kept an english town its not like another places in the UK are dominated my asylem seekers and other cultures. Soz if i sound racist but would like to live in a prodomently english town.

And it is privatley funded i think not government funded and my town where it is being built in is a convevative town not labour the conservtive ppl agreed with the mosque. + the domes on top are going to be gold leaf so you could say its sort of made of gold. oh and they only have like another years construction before its finnished. They already been doing it for like 3 years.
