Ok me and a mate are making a Instant Messenger
so far everything is good we can come online , chat change status leave online messages etc

the only problem is that we can't make a sign up form that will write to a access db if anyone knows how it'd be great

do you mean you're using microsoft access for the database? doesn't that mean it won't work if the computer with access on it is shut down?

no it means that the client connections to a server and your login details are stored in access

Looking good and interesting however I would change the name as quite a lot of people will think it has something to do with The Sims which will also mean you will find it hard to get top of google etc.

I don't like it. I think the idea is rather pointless as most people use the 3 leading messengers, which have a much nicer interface. I think your interface looks cheap and messy. Maybe let the operating system deal with the task bar and scrollbar design, and go for a much sleeker look. Maybe to match OS X or Vista? I wish you the best of luck. :)

Which is just default Windows Messenger and Windows Icons, which are copyright to Microsoft. And the interface looks like puke, and that drop shadow to give it a 'cool' effect makes it look worse.

No point in your little client either, but suppose you could use it on your website or whatever.

Its ran on 5 Dedicated windows servers, we have a backup network if all fails,
we have an administrator network to view logs and take action on any users. To anwser you question why would you use Sim well.

Sim is not created my some multi billion dollar company

As for the layout the first one was mine but rix did do another layout. The reason we are doing that layout right now is it is not messy and screwing up the code.

Plus, by your lack of ability to spell words, I seriously doubt you own and operate a 5 server cluster.

Let me ask you a few questions...

1) What is a cluster?
2) Do you actually even use a cluster, if not, how are these five servers used?
3) How fast is the network speed on your "servers"?
4) What protocol does this IM use?
5) Post a screenshot of remote desktop with a notpad window open with the following message:

"Hi Tomm from HxF"

And a explorer window open with a new folder named "For Tom"

It is not on a cluster the client checks for the servers online A B C D E. If A is down then it will connect to Srever B and so on. Specs on my best vps is 2 gig ram one gig net speed and how i pay for this? I earn money off ad's on my site or donations. Any more questions or are you going to offer support and stop being suck a *****?

If you don't believe me on the vps servers i understand that i am having problems with them and RIX! As for the project it has been on the road for three months, Rix just came in yesterday. Sorry about my sig I am just angry about this whole setup. As for my grammar i do not realy care i will upload more screens in a bit.
