Well we'ave had our dog nearly all my life, since I was 3 and shes just died a few mins ago. Im strugling to breath from crying.
This morning she was fine, then she was struging to breath. We took her 2 vets and we went to see how now and he said she wont live till morning. But there wont be any 1 there at the vets 2night and we couldnt bring her home so he let he go while we were there.
this is a picture of her a few months ago:

awww, thats sad to hear. The best thing to do it to keep your mind off it for a while, keep yourself busy, so you arent just thinking about it. The more you dwell on it the more upset you will become and the harder it hits you.

Sorry for your loss, was she a cocker spanial?

1st march 2004 I had to get my cat, Bianca put down, I had to make the choice.Bianca was 7. All you can do when you get your animal put down or your animal dies is think of the good times and you have photos to keep your dogs memory going.Like you for I cried and cried.

OMG the PDSA make some vets make it so animals have 2 be looked after during the night and evening in there kennels, and we took her 2 our vets not knowing this and we found out she was left at the vets with no other dogs and no vet or nurse since 4 - 10pm.
it made my mum feel guilty for leaving her on her own on her last day.
lol @ this pic of her as a puppy xD

That's what I did when my cat died. I knew him all my life and he was an important family member in my family. He was involved in conversation alot and walked around seeing each of us and what we were doing. Remember the good times, not the bad times :)

I think its more difficult to try and put your mind of it, and I think the best thing to do is get a new pet after like a few months, and its ok to cry etc, I know how it feels, but I dont know what to say other than RIP

It's very very sad at the time, however you get over it as the months or years go by, of course you'll look back at the dog and have some sad moments however that's life.

She's a beautiful dog.
You see, when people post in here about their hamster or goldfish dying, I find it pathetic.
But the thing about a dog, is a dog is as good as a person.
They communicate with you so well, they actually become your friend.

I've never lost anybody close (including animals) due to death, so I'm in no situation to help you, I just wanted to say she was a beautiful dog :)

yeah and I understand that it's upsetting, but when something like a dog dies it does make you think really doesnt it.

A lot more than if someone's goldfish has died.

I can understand that as a dog you are able to do things with. But i still understand how people can get a wee bit sad if a fish died, although not as much as say a dog or cat.

I have also been through it and I can assure you, although right now it seems like your world is falling apart and your crying so much and can't move on, gradually you will begin to get over it. That doesn't mean you wont think about or love your dog still as I know my dog has still got a place in my heart and I think about her every single day.

Don't worry you will get through it. :)

That's really sad tbh. My dogs are only young so I've still got a while before I loose them. Sorry to hear about your dog, will you be getting a new one?

Some people say that getting a new dog once yours has just died is wrong because you're replacing your old one.

But others say that they can't live without a dog in their live and need to get a new one.

sorry to hear that, when you have had an animal practically all your life its even harder to let go. :(

Well when I lost my dog I left it a couple of months until it all had really sunk in and I had gotten to terms with it. However, I then got a dalmatian a few months later and I think it really did help me move on.

For people who say your just trying to replace your old dog - they clearly have no idea and need to mind their own business for a start. I personally know my old dog always has and willhave a place in my heart and I'll always love her. Although I love my new dog so much as well, it's completely different as she is a completely different dog altogether with her own individual personality.

That's like saying if your ever so unfortunate to lose a child you shouldn't have another one.

I've had my goldfish for 8 years.
I'd cry if they died as much as I did when my dog died, or when my cat was put down.

I have to give my dog up in a few week, my dads moving house. :( I'm trying to get a family member to have her so I can still see her, but I suppose it's better her going to a good home than somewhere rubbish because I can still see her.. it is hard to lose a pet especially with a dog, you can get so attached to them

If maybe you lose a pet think of the good times you had with them! Think of the memorys you can hold in your heart forever. Be glade that they had a life and be glad you loved them :)

Just hold that memory in your heart and hold your head up high. :) :love7:

So sorry to hear of your loss...A few weeks ago I lost my rabbit, I came home from school to find him. Turned out he had a mouth disease and we couldn't do anything for him but It was quite sudden like you. Luckily I had another rabbit so I had to keep it together and make sure I look after her a lot more to stop her getting depressed. The pain will get better I promise. You just need to think of the good times...You might want to get another dog, it might help.
