What I don't get is if they already knew it was dangerous conditions for aircraft, why didn't they close the runway? - Because it's all about money money money?

RIP to all onboard.

Can no one read lately?

"Rescue crews said none of the 186 people on board the Airbus A320 could have survived, while more people were killed on the ground."

Also, it wasn't the 'scarebus,' the thread title is miss leading. It was the condition which may be slightly down to the Airbus not beeing properly tested in these sort of conditions. Anyway, all planes need to havea crash at least once, it just so happens a new one has had one. Hardly a big deal "/

The Runway had recently been resurfaced and the proper ridges had not been made and there was not enough traction and it was slight wet so the rain could drain away.

Airbusses nickname is Scarebus :|

No it's not a big deal that 200 people are dead because the airport just want money money money and kept a clearly obvious dangerous runway open.. Same problem in Bristol, the runway was closed and properly "grooved" - And that was just because aircraft reported "skidding" on landing.

Meh, maybe they should re-surface the touchdown area of Runway 23 at Stansted.. Thats pretty much like an ice ring!
