.. on the way teenagers are portrayed today.

I'm just interested and all..

Personally i think the media is largely to balme for the way the older generations now regard all teenagers as "yobs" or "hooligans." I think it's disgusting, if the media made another race, country or even the elderly look bad all hell would break out but why is it that they can just brand teenagers as useless, loitering hooligans?

Discrimination is discrimination no matter who it is and something should be done.

I do judge myself, it's just i do not like the way people will try to avoid me or scowl at me when i walk down the street.

You know what you are in the inside, if people judge you on other people then they have sad lifes.

I think that it is a tad disgraceful that people just go "Oh a bunch of teenagers, they probably have drugs and booze in their coats".

It's like they need a wake up call, we aren't all like that, I know people who are though. I know the typical teenager as portrayed by the media, 16, pregnant, drinking with her "mates" down the park and doing drugs. I used to be her best friend and now im like "Your cool".

It is almost discrimiation that people are rude to us cause we are of a certain age.

Oh yes, don't forget the other type of teenager.

The one who never ventures outside and sits all day on his/her playstation or computer.

Oh, hi!
I thought I was the only one.

I live on a bad street, theres huge gangs of teenagers outside, they have tried to rob me before so I don't dare go outside.

I get some propper dodgey looks, like when im bmxing they shout at me saying stop breaking things when im only grinding and i wax it.
But it works the other way, when im on the river people dont seem to be like that they are nice.
I think that when they think u have money (not saying i do) but when ur doing a average thing they dont like it.

I think the way teenagers are portrayed is the way others view them. As in behaviour, reputation, etc. So if you got a bad attitude, a horrible reputation, etc. you're going to be portrayed as that. So, it has nothing to do with discrimination. It's all about the way you act.

Its discrimination. Recently, we had a cop come into our school to do a talk, and he was saying that if someone was intimidated by us talking to eachother they could split us up. That's not fair. It's not our fault if they find us scary, we aren't doing anything wrong. They say "Everyone is equal" well then we could call the police, say a pair of granny's were scaring us, they'd have to be split up. The cops wouldn't do that. It's well unfair.

I think lots of kids in their early to mid teens attitudes are really bad now.
I am not saying every teen is like that but just take a look at how lots behave in the city centres and you can see why people think that.
dont complain about what people think of teens try and change their minds by the way you act (thats if you do act a total **** head like a lot in my city do)

Know what you mean. I was waiting for a bus yesterday and two elderly women came in, so I moved so they could sit together. They were mortified, so was another chap sat near by.

I know. Adults have pubs to socialise. What do we have? Fields are being used for housing..
