I went out with someone a year younger than me for 3 years, it doesnt make any difference as long as you like them :) I wouldnt call it 'social suicide' but maybe if the person you are going out with doesnt have the best of reputations it may rub off on you.

Tbh, i don't see why people think its wrong to date people who are younger/older than them. Aslong as they both have feelings for each other. Yeh, people may look funnily at people if its clear there's a huge age difference but if you both love each other, you shouldn;t care what people think :)
