well, if thats overweight, then erm... well, its not though. its actually low, but it depends on your height.

anyway.
id recommend not eating junk.
eat healthy meals.
balanced.
three meals a day.
maybe a snack somewhere in between if you get hungry.
and drink LOTS of water.

dont cut out meals.

Your BMI is 22.2. It's on the high side, but it is not overweight at all.
There's no need for you to eat less. The consequences will be awful.

Just eat enough, there's no need to purge or any need to starve yourself.

Sarey has given you the best tips, water is a great way of losing weight (I'm not entirely sure how, but it does work).

If you really want a snack, instead of heading for crisps or chocolate, see if there is any fruit / salad around.
Try to stick to three basic meals.
Avoid fizzy drinks, if possible, if not, try to drink 1's with less sugar and less fat, as they're easier to burn off.
Do a little bit of excerise a week (doesn't have to be much, an hour a week might make all the difference)

I'm only giving those as it should keep your mother happy, and it's a compromise. :)
