It's a pretty good movie. Better than the original. It's ridden with film cliches though and is generally pretty unoriginal.

It's just another remake. Most films that come out nowadays are remakes or sequals. They need to stop with it, and bring in some proper, original ideas.

hmm i wouldn't agree with that, but he has put himself into a corner by doing 2 musicals in a row. but he's good in them so it's up to him, but he might not be taken seriously if and when he tries to be in anything else.
