I'm annoyed when bands release singles which have no original B-Sides on them at all.
Like The Rakes' recent release "The World Was A Mess But His Hair Was Perfect". Even though it was a vinyl-only release, here are the tracklistings for both vinyls:
Gatefold:
1. The World Was A Mess But His Hair Was Perfect [Radio Edit]
2. The World Was A Mess But His Hair Was Perfect [Tronik Youth Remix]
Clear Sleeve:
1. The World Was A Mess But His Hair Was Perfect [Live Zane Lowe Session]
2. Trouble [Live Zane Lowe Session]
No original material at all.

i hate bands who release cd singles with only the original song and a mix of live tracks and remixes. it's so lazy.
arctic monkeys are best for b-sides, all their singles off the new album have 3 original b-sides.

What's also annoying is when bands release a song with a b-side which you think is a b-side but the same version is on their forthcoming album.

yeh i hate it when its just a radio edit or a version without the lyrics.
i love it when the b-side is something completely different to the band's normal sound

Yeah, those remixes are AWESOME.
Remix B-Sides everyone should get their hands on:
The Maccabees - X-Ray (Filthy Dukes Society Remix)
The Maccabees - X-Ray (South Central "For Those With Eyes To See" Remix)
Klaxons - Atlantis To Interzone (Crystal Castles Remix)
The Rakes - We Danced Together (Jape Remix)

everyone is raving on about TWWAMBHHWP but i think it's pretty weak. in fact, the whole of the rakes new album is crap compared to capture/release

What I also hate about some bands (certainly Panic!) is that they don't record ANY b-sides at all.

haha, i just looked at all their cd singles and vinyls on HMV website and they're ALL just live/acoustic versions of songs.

a good b-side is one thats a good song, but one you can say "yeah, this wouldnt go with the rest of the album". you don't want a song where you wonder why it didn't make the cut. the shins' b-sides are pretty good.
