Another Thread about Braces

My Dentist Recomends I Have Braces, But Said It's Totally up to me - And I can get them later If I want. Should I Get them now, Or wait Until I'm an Adult (Even Although They'll Cost Then) I've also been told you Can't Eat Certain Foods and Drink Sugary Drinks, Is That True? And If you Get Them, Can you Ask your dentist to take them Out at any time?

I'm getting braces on Thursday. It's better to get them now though, they cost loads if you have 'em later on.

Get them now. You wont have to pay, and if you need them anyway, why wait? If you do wait, your just putting it off for no real good reason. Just get it over with. Better sooner then later.

You cant just GET them taken out. its a bit harder than that lol you want to get them now while you can. trust me, it will look better when your younger than an adult. i thought i looked dumb when i first got them, but now i dont :) they dont hurt like **, just quite a bit sore. imagine a bad cramp but in your mouth.

Right I've been through the same as you, I didn't really want braces but I had them and now Im so glad that I did it then and didn't leave them. My advice to you is do it now, you won't have to pay and you'll have great teeth for when your older :D

When you get them off you'll have to wear a retainer for 6 months.

There are different types of retainer - theres some you have to wear permanantly for 6 months, or theres ones where its basically a thin gumsheild (which is what I have), and you just have to wear these at night for 6 months.
