FaceBook - May be getting closed

Thats right. Facebook might be getting closed. The two creators of facebook are being sued by two friends and former school-mates of theirs from Harvard. Appearently, during their years at facebook, the two friends who didn't create facebook actually came up with the idea, and they claim the other two friends stole it. They're sueing them and they are demanding that all of facebooks assets are transferred over to the other friends right away. The judge has put a delay on his ruling because he is still looking into facts, but a verdict is expected to be made shortly.

I really cant see this going though, I havent read much of it but the idea seems a bit broad from what I have seen.

I could wip up a quick site. make a bunch of idea sheets and claim i invented myspace. from what i've read they really don't have any grounds to claim ownership.

I am guessing they will have more proof than that. Maybe some plans, drawings, mindmaps?

Anyway unless they have like a percific idea of facebooks, facebook could just be a copy of Myspace?

They must be claming ownership of a feature of it, other wise the social idea isnt their idea.

I cant see them closing it down, wouldnt look great to them if they got a website millions of people use closed down. The only thing they want will be money.

And they could just take it over really.. its pretty much self-functioning now.

I'd bet they would do a cash deal or something with the original thinkers of this site. Its weird though, its just like a space. Isn't myspace, bebo all of those also bout the same?
