Nope, it really happened :P

It wasnt for long, but anyone who went on it within the last hour or so is advised to scan their PC just in case.

At first I thought it wasn't really a security flaw, just a bad choice of a staff member, as a staff member was the one who caused this. But, then I realised that could've been a security flaw as the staff member could of put a META redirect code into a news report, which caused the user to redirect to that nasty site, which shouldn't of happened as I'm sure Habbox should have an allowed codes list in Joomla.

You have to download keyloggers/viruses etc, not visit a page. But, certain browsers (*COUGH* old version of IE *COUGH*) can have exploits, which can be put onto a site, which does something - bad.

Or there's a way somebody got clever.

Well thats funny, considering i never went on one of those sites, do you mind explaining that one?

On the Habbox site, it was said to have a link that lead to some kind of spyware. It was nothing major but advise people to scan just to be sure. But it's all sorted now.
