I came across this

how come only some of their antennas count towards the final height?
like, some of the heights count the antenna and some others don't.. if you get me.

I think actual antennas (like the TV receiver things on houses) aren't counted but the things that are part of the actual architecture, like spikes and poles, are counted towards the height.

Some antennas are part of the architecture. For example, the spike at the top of the Taipei 101 is part of the architecture, but not the Sears Tower.

What about the CN Tower? It's right inbetween the Burj Dubai & Freedom Tower with an astounding height of... 1,815 ft 5 in. Wow. They need to add the CN Tower to that list.

Yeah I guess looking closer they do look a little like spikes (the ones that are counted)
and yeah, I noticed that the CN tower wasn't on there either.

I guess it is weird... I always thought the antenna counted onto the height of the WTC, I remember watching something on TV about it, and it said "then they added the antenna, bringing the final height to..."
and at the end of the day, isn't the antenna part of the structure? It's fixed onto it and all..
I guess that the other ones are spires by looking at this:
"spires count; antennas do not"

I'm guessing they don't have the CN Tower on there because it's not a 'building'. All the buildings in the picture, whether they be towers or not, are all places of work and not just a sightseeing place like the CN Tower. While some do have observation decks, they are still just places of work. The CN tower was just meant for being a tall building really. Although i'm not sure about the empire state building if it's a place of work or not.. but I do know it sends radio signals and stuff like that from there.
