Okay so i moved the PC upstairs to my bedroom and its connected to the internet Wirelessly with a Belkin Wireless USB adapter. Ive now also moved my xbox upstairs to my room and want to get the xbox Live working on it.
Ive tried connecting it via ethernet cable so 1 end in PC the other end in Console but it comes up as

Network Adapter: Wired
IP Address: Failed

Is there any way i can get it to work?

+rep to all suggestions

The Wireless Network Adaptor should work you can get them at GAME for £55, because obviously you have a wireless router

Yes but isnt there a way to connect with a wire? as i dont want to really spend 55 pound on a adapter.

There is a way, but that means getting a 40m Ethernet cable and drilling holes everywere.

Trust me, the Network Adapter is the best option

It's possible but you need to set up a Windows Internet Sharing Passport thing.

plug the ethernet cable into the router and into the xbox - it's too complicated if you plug it in the pc.

move the router upstairs?

Sunny.

cant because the router is connected to the Modem and the modem has to stay downstairs due to the Virgin media box wire is down there.

Thats how my xbox is on live. I plug my xbox into my laptop through the ethernet cable. But i had to manually connect the xbox to the comp and to the internet.
