I've not seen anybody in there in ages, I was in there today and some people came because I was there, Bren and John and we waited for a very long time. Where are the staff?
Right after Habbox TV got shut down, if the Help Desk went, that wouldn't look too good on Habbox.

There isn't one sucessful help desk on Habbo atm, they have died down which is a pitty because help desk were all i found fun on Habbo.

I am normaly sat in there also but at nights is when the help desk picks up now as management comes online and so do many others but you just gotta know when top be there :)

Theres a trade room? But I think we should always keep the help desk as there is still people coming in wanting help and thats what its for and its also used as kinda a Habbox Drop-In

Hmm, advertise the help desk more and do competitions. To get fraz's (3rd ultimate helper) helpdesk popular, me and fraz used to do "come to the help desk and win a rare".
That helped it get really popular.

Mmm.. If you're thinking of something along the lines of a "Habbox Stock Exchange" or something similar, I am not certain it would go over too well.

You bring up a very valid point there, however, I believe if there are a few popular staff there, Dan, Bren, and Jake for example, then the room will get popular. Though people like Matt, Rach and Gemma who also show up get the room popular aswell. The only person from this list I have seen there today is Bren. It's no fun being on a failing department, I hope this is not the case, if so I hope it can get back on track.
Bren is always in there coz its summit to do while on rune :P

It was doing well, and then I left and with nobody to yell at them staff started slacking, thinking I wouldn't get reports when I was back :8 I wasn't too pleased as the staff will tell you.
However the issue does still stand that desks are no longer that popular, and even as chill rooms they are rapidly losing popularity.
The one way we can populate the desk is by holding quizzes, however that is not a way to hold the guests, we can't hold a quiz every single day, and people would basically come only when it was quiz time.
The real issue we need to face is whether the Help Desk has the possibility to succeed, especially with limited target audience, and a severe lack of staff dedication, even on the part of trialists who are normally the most enthusiastic.
However, we are going to take one last stab at it, and I'm cooking up a plan for a large stab at it. I just need to get it from my mind to the computer screen and we'll see. If it goes through though, it'll be massive, concerning all of Habbox including the desk. But don't get too excited, it has to work out first :P

Habbox has a help desk?! I thought it got closed down lol.
I agree with the people saying Habbo has gotten boring and the need for Help Desks is very very low. I think it is due to the low amount of Habbo UK losers due to new hotels opening allowing Habbos of another country to move over there. Not to mention the UK Hotel is poorly run and nothing fun ever seems to happen anymore. It is all the same.

I've explained the Ross situation at *least* 10 times now. I'm not going over it again. Just search it in the HxHD forum. The reason you weren't hired is twofold. First of all you have a temper which cost you the job the first time. Secondly, I invited you to PM me as to what particularly in the application set me away from it. And you did, and I gave you the EXACT reasons why you were not picked. I can't remember all of them, but I do remember your application was far too technical and you didn't focus on the human side of things, that is interacting with the people and actually helping people. You basically sent me an essay on computers. Bren said he liked it because he is a friend, and above all he is much too loyal to be mean to his mates, I know that about him. John is your brother so he's not exactly going to say "Your app was horrible" is he, especially as he's a good brother and was trying hard as he could to keep you the first time (and I gave you several extra chances because of his hard lobbying, did you ever remember to thank him for that? ;))

I was friends with John until the day he was fired, because on the day he was fired he decided to scream, rant, and rave at me, and if a friend of mine decides that our friendship is no longer worth anything because he lost a job on a fansite, then I don't see the point in us being friends if he's so easily changed :)

Yeh thanks Nvr,HxHD Canada actually has some style,Was made by Catszy on little furni and looks suprisingly ALOT better than your desk,Although it isnt opened im pretty sure its nearly as popular as yours xox
Hey Ross - yes it looks okay but the UK desk is pretty cool too. I really don't like this have a go at Nvrspk4 by people though. He is one of the most dedicated and efficient members of staff I have ever known and I have always found his judgement to be 100% sound. I do have a go myself I know sometimes but only when I have 100% hardcore examples and evidence to back myself up. All this seems to be is an organised flaming exercise. It applies to almost everybody in this thread and the only reason I quoted Ross was because he seemed to involve me. Thanks =]

As for the topic, I think falling popularity is to be expected as the overall population of habbo falls. I personally think the room should be revamped and made into more of a help desk, maybe incoporate events and a rare values/habbox drop-in into the basic function of the room? Either that or leave it completely and move the staff to productions or start a new project. As nvr and MAD have said, it isn't likely to get a lot better leaving it in its current state.

I've explained the Ross situation at *least* 10 times now. I'm not going over it again. Just search it in the HxHD forum. The reason you weren't hired is twofold. First of all you have a temper which cost you the job the first time. Secondly, I invited you to PM me as to what particularly in the application set me away from it. And you did, and I gave you the EXACT reasons why you were not picked. I can't remember all of them, but I do remember your application was far too technical and you didn't focus on the human side of things, that is interacting with the people and actually helping people. You basically sent me an essay on computers. Bren said he liked it because he is a friend, and above all he is much too loyal to be mean to his mates, I know that about him. John is your brother so he's not exactly going to say "Your app was horrible" is he, especially as he's a good brother and was trying hard as he could to keep you the first time (and I gave you several extra chances because of his hard lobbying, did you ever remember to thank him for that? ;))I do not have a temper, I knew exactly what I was doing and I did it calmly. Imo Nvr is one of the most hard working, loyal members of Habbox Staff he manages more than 3 departments and does all the staff permissions and editing. I think allot more would agree than disagree that Nvr is one of hardest working members of Habbox staff.

When I created this thread it was 100% dead basically. Jake is in there making it popular now, Ross, is correct by saying Nvrspk has been too inactive but the only thing we can do is tell him this; he already knows it. He will (hopefully) fix that. It's not the time zone, Nvrspk you and I are only 1 hour apart and it makes no difference.

As he said before he went away, hes been speaking to MAD and there is going to be allot of changes. You're forgetting that dan2nd (assistant manager) is still on holiday so Nvr still has 2 other departments to run aswell as the help desk. Just be patient, I'm sure he will sort it.

Because I haven't seen ANY examples of you actually caring about the desk. If you wanted to help then make SUGGESTIONS that will actually help rather than "x shouldn't have been fired" or "you should hire me" or "fire nvr" because it doesn't help.
John, why aren't you manager? Because you couldn't even run HxTV properly. Put yourself in Nvr's shoes eh? When people (I admit, including myself) were calling you bad at your job or ringing the death bells on HxTV, it made your job harder. This is what you're doing to Nvr. No wonder he blocked you, if all you do is throw your toys out the pram!
Rach, infractions ARE annoying and its even worse when it comes from a friend but you know, if you break the rules, you get punished. Its simple as that. You shouldn't call Nvr "up himself" etc because he infracted you, you should apologise for putting him a difficult position as a friend. You can be nice when you stop being so sensitive. He didn't infract you because he doesn't like you, he infracted you because it was his job. The german post was childish, you're better than that.
And for the helpdesk itself, well, yeah it has been kinda dead but you know what, all Help Desks are going through a bad patch. Place like Club Habbo Council/Drop In are popular because they're for the site rather than for help on Habbo. I mean, with Habbo X's and the Help Tool etc the actual need for help desks is less and less and people don't need them as chill rooms no longer because its much easier to make your own room! Nvr has some great plans for Habbox coming up and I feel the way he is being singled out in this thread is mean because he's very hard working. As for the actual staff well maybe their lacking motivation and that will have to come from Nvr because at the end of the day the way the staff work and how they are disciplined is nothing to do with us, it's Nvr's department, let him manage it.
Give Nvr a break and give HxHD a chance, it has its highs and lows and I reckon that come october, it'll be as popular as ever. :)

If he was talking about the past, surely he would have used the past tense rather than present. I.E he would said "You have done nothing" rather that "You are doing nothing".

I don't really think non-staff members are in a position to say that Nvr isn't doing anything because he's been on holiday for the past week or so and that's when it slipped, now hes back, he's trying his hardest to get it back on it's feet.
And as you can't see the staff forums, you don't see the work he does or the new ideas he's coming up with.

I'm surprised you say these things about me. I made this thread for the purpose to help the desk. NOT at all because I was "fired" or want Nvrspk "fired" in pms Nvrspk and I get along just fine but I think he dislikes me because he called me bad staff on two occasions. Help Desks are rapidly losing popularity on Habbo, but we are trying to make one last huge stab at it, because HxHD has been a part of Habbox for a long time (I personally have been staff at HxHD for 2 years and some months). If it doesn't work, we have ideas that will keep the spirit of HxHD around at the very least. But as we said, something *very* big is on its way. Keep your eyes peeled, its coming to Habbox soon :eusa_danc

Blow up at staff members? I like my privacy, I respect others and I trusted they would respect mine, not con my brother into telling them my full name and being racist against me in the help desk because I'm John's brother-I'll admit to being angry there, Ross and I are great friends now, so are Joey and Kevin. I guess first impressions are not my motif. I don't think I am allowed to discuss the NintendoNews thing in public :P but his intentions according to him were not to get me fired. Hmm it's a shame this happened like this, did you ever tell John this? I think because he was blocked it cost your friend ship with him. Though John firmly says you blocked him before he said anything to you on one account.

Help Desks are rapidly losing popularity on Habbo, but we are trying to make one last huge stab at it, because HxHD has been a part of Habbox for a long time (I personally have been staff at HxHD for 2 years and some months). If it doesn't work, we have ideas that will keep the spirit of HxHD around at the very least. But as we said, something *very* big is on its way. Keep your eyes peeled, its coming to Habbox soon :eusa_danc

You had a temper at the desk, I recieved complaints. It was my job to see to it. I've also seen you blow up at members during your time as help desk staff.
Actually, he was shouting at me saying that I was involved and that I was a traitor, backstabber, and I was speaking with MAD at the time who advised me not to speak about the firing on MSN, so I followed his advice and blocked John to prevent a confrontation. Makes more sense when you know the story eh?
He verified that it was correct, to do so he must know the full story, unless he's verifying something that he doesn't know about?
Rightio. I've been in there every day for the past four days, trying to make it popular, you've only seen me once I don't know why. I was away on holiday and wasn't fully back until last Wednesday, and I spent till Thursday-Friday wading through PMs and trying to catch up (I shouldn't say wading in PMs, drowning in PMs). So I would thank you and Ross to not judge me on things you know nothing of :)

So, I've tried to keep my comments from taking shots back at people, which I could do, but won't. What I do want to say is thanks to all those who defended me, Rosie, Jake, Paul, Scott, Garion, Sam, Joey, David, and even Earthquake for the comic relief :P It means alot, honestly it does.
So erm I'm done responding to my critics because I feel it would let down the people who went out of their way to defend me, if you feel the need to abuse me, carry on, if it makes you feel better than that's terrific. Blow up at staff members? I like my privacy, I respect others and I trusted they would respect mine, not con my brother into telling them my full name and being racist against me in the help desk because I'm John's brother-I'll admit to being angry there, Ross and I are great friends now, so are Joey and Kevin. I guess first impressions are not my motif. I don't think I am allowed to discuss the NintendoNews thing in public :P but his intentions according to him were not to get me fired. Naw, I made my pledge not to fight because it'd be letting down the friends who defended me. Plus, in that one, he wasn't actually arguing, he was sort of compromising and agreeing to an extent. -Shrugs-

We're certainly not fighting/arguing. We are both just having a long discussion and when I made this thread the desk was not popular, now it is so this thread is not really needed anymore ;).

It is not dead now, you can read the exact time in this thread it bacame not dead somewhere around page 5-6 I think. Nvrspk came back and got it active, now we have to worry about the desk fights :P.

A thread like this started the rapid down fall of my other favourite department HxTV which kinda frightened me when I first saw it as I don't want another favourite department of mine to go the same way. I was very pleased however to hear from friends and comments in this thread comfirming things have improved.
Ok as far as helping the help desk the only way I can think of that can benifit the department is by dropping in from time to time its always nice to see people from the forum coming in!
