So, theres this lad at school, and hes reallly nice, and sweet. I really like him but i'm not sure whether he feels the same way...
All my friends reckon he likes me, but i'm not sure. I'm too shy to ask him out...

yeah, best thing to do is do it all yourself, just be straight up. sneaking around the edges will do you no good.

If I was you I would not have done that, I really dislike it if someones friends say so and so like me and my friends dislike it as well.

As for asking him out, don't just jump straight in with the question.
Invite him out with you and your mates also say that he can bring a few of his but make it clear what your intentions are.

Compliment him on the way he looks, if he returns the compliment he most probably likes you as well.
If he does not return the compliment then it doesn't mean he does not fancy you, sure it could mean he doesn't but it could also mean that he is unsure if he does and would like to get to know you more first which he should really tell you, if he does just keep inviting him out.

On the other hand if he does not want to go out with you and your mates, you might as well just forget him.
