This is a serious matter, no stupid comments please.

Recently I have learned my friend enjoys cutting herself, IE she thinks it's fun, and this makes me feel sick. I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to stop her from hurting herself.

I feel when she does it, it is hurting me, and she says if she doesn't cut herself she'll take her own life.

I'm wondering what the deal is with that, is it a cry for help? Or a genuine threat?

no one can make her stop, she'll stop when she feels she can.

whether it is attention seeking or not, she does need help. so maybe support her and be there for her and maybe give her techniques. she can get deeper as time goes on and could be life threatening, so try avoiding that, and tell her if she wants to do it, make sure she does it at the minimum and tell her to take care of her cuts and stuff. getting a first aid kit is actually a good idea.

I would go over to her house, then if she goes to the bathroom or something. Lock the door to her room and find all her knifes and blades or w/e and bring them home with you and throw them out. And telling her parents would'nt be a bad idea either.

She knows I'm there for her, I'd cut off my right arm for her, she just doesn't want any help. her religion prevents it (Christian Science).
