Well okay first of all - If you laugh at this you have no life and alot of free time.

This is really serious and I would really appreciate some help here.
The other day I noticed a lump behind my left nipple. I am male aged 16. I can't see this lump but I can feel it. I google searched it and this is what I got.

Basically there could be 2 big things it could be, "Gynecomastia" Which is when estrogen causes a lump (Though estrogen also causes height growth and I am short so I don't think it is estrogen that caused this)

Then cancer. Cancer for males usually occurs from men aged 60-70 and from once again sometimes having alot of estrogen and from blood relatives. The only blood relative I have who had breast cancer is my grandmother who had it a long time ago.
When I was trying to notice more about this I squeezed my breast and liquid came out of the nipple. Not much just alittle dot of it. This also happened with my right nipple.

I will tell my mother about this if I can't find out another answer, if it is just something normal that happens at my age or something. But if anybody has ever experienced this, a relative has or you know a doctor well, or can google it or what ever, I would really appreciate this.

Thanks, Sam.

Never experienced this. I know once or twice I had a tiny lump when you pressed in and it somewhat hurt.. But it went away.. so it was obv. nothing serious.. Best bet is to just talk to your mom about it or go to a doctor if you feel to embarassed to talk to your mom

i had a lump behind my nipple when i was 14, and i went to the doctors n that about it and he said it was just a bud or something. basically he said it's nothing to worry about. he said the youngest bloke that he'd treated with breast cancer was 74 or something so i doubt it would be cancer unless you're 60/70+ :P. i'd get it checked out though if you're worried about it.

Its called a nipple erection..

Nah erm I think you should see a doctor about it cos it sounds bad about the liquid coming out. Tell your mum straight away and get an appointment with doctor.

ps. I bet every boy who reads this thread starts squeezing their nipple and feeling for lumps :P.

Ostinatos not a doctor so I doubt it lol
Only a doctor will identify the problem if none of your family know.

Google a doctors forum and tell them your symtoms :P.

yeah, your all just going through puberty. its natrual in boys & does clear up & go away eventually. it feels like theres a lump you can move about in/under your nipple, that may be sensitive to touch. its perfectly normal and is nothing to worry about [:!

Sounds like a Gynecomastia.. 2 of my friends have had them. Both went to the doctors and they said everything was fine, and it's a common condition. If it was cancerous it is usually unlikely that the lump stays behind the nibble, and no changes occur on the skin.

There is a possibility that it is cancer, so it's best to go to the doctor as soon as possible and get it checked out.

This happens to most boys during puberty and the lump is a storage of fat which will go away in a few months. Search it if you don't belive me but, it is most likley this rather than cancer.

actually, theres a near on impossible chance its cancer.

PlanetMars

It may well be nearly impossible, but it's not impossible. No matter how small the risk of cancer, there is still a possibility that it is, as it can happen to anyone at any time. I think it's best to get it checked out because you will regret it if the possible cancer progresses into the next stage. The fact that there is discharge is also a worry.

The appearance of a new breast symptom should be taken seriously by both patients and their doctors, because of the possibility of an underlying breast cancer at almost any age.

i think it's best you tell your mom.
then maybe go to the doctor.
i'm not sure what the lump is.
not sure.
but you need to check it out.

Well it could be too things...

one yes it could be a cancer.. and if it is i would go to your GP asap... to get it treated

or as you said you cant see it and it could be just paranoia or you could be a hypacondriac (very health conscious)

either way i would go see your GP just incase

Ahh, the old lump. I did exactly the same thing as you and thought it was cancer. -_- But I asked my mum and she assured me it was nothing to worry about. She was right and after a while it went. ;)

Tis a stage of puberty, in 14 now, i got mine at the start of year 8 but i guess somew people experience it later than others.
No need to go to a doctor, there is nothin wrong wwith it, should go in like 5 or six months
You say it is behind ure left nipple, you will have one behind your right sooner or later but that wont hurt as much.

As everone above said

Its when you go through "changes" and basically it is quite sensitive for about say 2-4 weeks. Then u dont notice it but it is still there. Also you will most probably get it in the other one soon aswell.

Go to the doctors for re-assurence but i bet he will say what i did. Its called a bud or somehting

It's when your body is changing quite rapidly- hormone rates change causing lumps behind the nipple tissue, nothing to worry about- if you was like 21+ then you'd have cause for concern but nope nothing to worry about but if your mind is abit uneasy then go get it checked out =]

Who in the right mind, gave the thread creator negative reputation for posting this, what did they do wrong?

:o I was just about to post a thread about this. I've had these lumps behind my nipples for like 2 or 3 months now and they move around if I squish em. I asume it's the same thing you have.

I had them a few months back, really irritating but just try wearing softer clothes and try not catching them otherwise you get abit watery eyed :P they should fade soon though, but if it's been lasting for say 4months then i'd get them checked out just to be sure

also lmao at someone bad repping. ah the immaturity of the net.
