Dear visitors:
unfortunately we have some bad news for you: since August 24, 2007 Habbo.cn has been closed at least temporarily, and possibly for a long time. :( Our Habbo Staff is currently working hard to find a way to continue the service in the future - you will be informed about the situation as soon as we know. We are really sorry about this. Meanwhile you can choose to visit other Habbo services all over the world.

found it on here... -> www.habbo.cn

First hotel to ever temporarily close in my books. I'd be pretty confident it'd be something to do with Chinese law.

One Question, Wouldn't Everybody's Money Have To Be Refunded? Surely People Have Furni On The Hotel? What Would Happen?

Might be people only being allowed to spend so long on internet games. Damn communists.

On the chinese habbo credits are timesed by 10. eg 100 CN Credits are only 10 UK Credits.

Oh and in the t+c then sulake may close Habbo at any time and they won't owe you a penny.

So They Could Close UK If They Wanted And Nobody Could Do Anything About It? Wow. That Is A Bit Unfair.

I would think if alot of people sued them something would be done.

I think the only thing they will refund if a hotel closes are credits in your purse but they might have changed that since you could trade for credits.

Lol gutted for the people who actually bought furni.
This is probably to do with some Chinese law.

You cant sue them. Its clearly stated in the terms and conditions, which you agreed to before you started playing the game.

You cant get out of it.

Maybe they didnt have enough staff to keep the place open? Or they blew there budget early and cant afford to keep the hotel open. Either way its still unfair

Their Staff worked from 7 in the morning till the late night.
And Hotel Manager haixin told it's probably permanent.

Habbo usually keep high standards on all the websites..
This one is designed horribly maybe in a rush?

I don't really care about habbo.cn there alot more hotels they can use..
Habbo.co.uk has alot of customers meaning its hardly likely they will close..

If habbo ever does close it means over 5,000 habbo's will do other stuff than just play the internet :)
Atleast HabboxForum will be here to take the strain of all the moaning habbo's!! Lol

I lived in Shanghai for a few months of my life. While over there, it was really apparent that the Government in quite happy to stick thier noses into internet services and shut them down without warning. There are plently of websites and forums which are blocked completely, for everyone.
As farfetched as it sounds, my guess is that Habbo was seen as another way for intelligence about the country to be leaked out. Most chatrooms over there are shut down anyway.. unless they can only be used internally, and not internationally.

Maybe we could send in an email to the chinese habbo asking if they can 'communicate' with habbo uk and to get uk to get a list of all the furni which was in the hotel and give it to me?

RICHe
11-09-2007, 07:52 PM
maybe, they might set up a claim your furniture contact form to claim your furniture to move it to another hotel, but it probs wont happen ;-]

even if they did, chinese habbos wont be able to access, as they probs will have all habbo hotels urls blocked over there due to that law thingy.

Why wa sit actually closed or doesn't anybody know yet?

11-09-2007, 08:41 PM
The clever thing for Habbo to do would be to not delete the Hotel, change it into a Indian Hotel or a South African Hotel, that would mean the Hotel would be more established with Furniture and so on.

Chinese Government are big on internet censorship. They even got google to censor some searches. Its a communist country, what do you expect?

I moved to China 3 weeks ago from Britain to study at a Beijing university, and it will be to do with the goverement, as you can't load any of the habbo hotels over here, not just the chinese one. As for it being said on wikipedia, I have no idea as wiki is banned over here along with bbc news etc so yep to people that said about censorship, loads are censored over here, people have been sending me emails but I never receive them, ah well sucks to be me :p
