I guess it would depend on your metabolism, and how much physical stuff you would do while you was not eating...

Yea fair point, coz it would totally depend on exercise... Hmm lets say just around house / area and 1 hour on an exercise bike

you wouldnt lose anything, your body would panic and start to store fat produce. not to mention throwing up a lot.

But even with storing fat, you would still burn off alot wouldnt you?

you wouldnt be able to do alot of excercise as food is your energy and you would soon have no energy to do anything and as charlie said would be sick alot

you can only burn off fat if you exercise, whilst eating healthily, as you need a daily income of a selection of food (e.g protien, carbs.. etc) & if your only drinking water you wouldnt have the energy to do anything.

Ty for info

Also to velocity, what would you consider minimum/best thing to eat in a day for 5 days then, that would keep healthy

CDLewis
24-08-2007, 09:41 PM
You wouldnt naturally lose weight.

If you were to lose weight it would be through vomit.

But when you run out of vomit you would be left with painful cramps and 'bourking' which isnt very nice.

Plus you wouldnt have the energy to do anything and you would break out.

I guess there is alot more that will happen but i guess thats the main stuff..

Maybe you would die if you are a big eater. ? who knows :D

Happy debating

T0M
24-08-2007, 09:42 PM
oO funky post Lewis, wth is bourking?

CDLewis
24-08-2007, 09:45 PM
Bourking is a slang word for when you being sick and you stop your stomach cramps but nothing comes up thats bourking.

Best i can explain it. Next time your being sick. And you get stomach cramps youll think ah.. Now i know what CDLewis was on about, Silly me tee hee then carry on being sick

Good luck

You would probably lose more if you cut down instead of not eating.. not too sure tho. :D

,Jess,
24-08-2007, 09:49 PM
I don't think you'd lose much if you just didn't eat because like has been said you're body starts to store fat.

You'd probably get kinda sick as well because your body wouldn't be getting what it needed e.g. vitamins

Different people need to eat different amounts to keep them going but really you should always eat 3 meals a day and if you were cutting back on what you had maybe go for smaller portions or cut out the more unhealthy stuff and snacks.

24-08-2007, 11:15 PM
You woudln't loose much at all. Your body goes into a sort of 'famine' mode and starts to store more fat than if you ate normally. That is why its a bad idea to not eat :]

sarey
24-08-2007, 11:16 PM
you can't last 3 days without water though. ;) most your body is made up from fluids. so you need water to basically survive.

food, you can last without.
but, in Africa, you see them children with bloated stomachs because they don't eat enough and I've no clue what happens but you get bloated and lose alot of muscle , that's why they've practically nothing on themselves in Africa.
Feel very sorry for them...

you'd lose weight better eating than not eating. IF you eat the right stuff. and not too much of the bad stuff.

oohh, edit;
and if you don't eat, your stomach shrinks, and you might not be able to eat properley for a while, like, you'll feel full even after a small portion. and you might get used to not eating... so, yeah, bad idea to 'crash diet' and stuff.

You could potentially lose a fair bit of weight, especially if excerising too. The problem is, you have a massive lack of nutrition, so vital organs could deteriorate, even though fat reserves are being used. It's extremely risky to do such a thing..

lol, tis okay.

and... right stuff?
salad is right, tis nice too.
strawberries, apples, bananas, grapes, fruit, stuff like that if you wanna snack.
meal stuff, pasta, vegetables, cereal, toast, poridge, rice, lots of stuff.

you can still have junk, but minimize it. like, maybe a packet of crisps a day...

Coz small stomach thing sounds good imo

I no wat i happens i foolishly tried it for 4 days.. i dont advise it i had to go to hospital and they explained it to me..

Basically:

The first day u would lose a bit of weight, then the next day your body would go into shock and store as much as possible including by-products of food which can be harmful to you

Also you would lose quite a bit of weight.. but it would be muscle.. cuz your body literally wastes away it uses tissue energy from your muscle and you would become weaker..

so you wouldnt lose anything more after that first day and then your stomach would cramp off and the next time u ate something you would either put it al into fat or puke it up..

it happened to me and i had to be fed through a tube.. its not nice i dont advice it

nothing positive comes out of it

told you!

Pasta is a low-fat food, with only about 90 calories per half-cup serving (1/2 tennis ball). But a typical serving of pasta is about three cups, or a total of 540 calories. And that’s before we add sauce, cheese, bread, and other extras that make pasta so popular.
Salad is an excellent low-calorie option—raw vegetables are crunchy, nutritious, and filling. Salad dressing adds about 120 calories per two-tablespoon serving (size-wise, think two thumbs). A standard restaurant serving of salad dressing is about one-quarter cup, which adds a quick 240 calories to our “low-cal” salad.

Well, if you don't eat for 5 days your stomach acids will build up, as they're generally "designed" to work on the solids you consume, and rely on you to feed your stomach so that it keeps your metabolism at it's normal balance, and so forth. If acid builds up in your stomach it can cause acid stomach, persistant nausea, headaches, light headedness, fatigue, and so on.

Also since it will be a "shock" to your normal diet, your stomach will more than likely shrink and you won't be able to consume a great deal without feeling bloated, sick or just fed-up. You're best eating little and often, whilst exercising - but don't do too much at once, build yourself up until your body's used to it.

Basically I lost weight throught watching what i eat and excersise ( mind you i dont watch what i eat all the time, i let myself have a junk day here and there)

If you didnt eat for 5 days you would probs be out of energy and not be able to do much, this is because your body doenst have any cals or carbs to burn which you would normally burn by moving around, excercise etc.

your body would also begin to store the fat. Meaning if you eat it will store it and make you put on weight.

I would say if you want to lose weight - Eat something like this a day.

Breakfast - Something like cornflakes/barnflakes/toast.
Brunch (if you get hungrey) - A piece of fruit or a low fat snack or packet of low fat crisps.
Lunch- a sandwhich with salad egg or somehting, if not try a slim a soup with some bread.
Snack - Fruit.
Dinner - something filling and what you fancie. like pasta, curry, chicken etc as long as its less than about 600-900 cals
Dessert - a small cake/yougurt/fruit salad

and tell yourself your not going to eat over a certain time. which i am going to start doing.

the reason gest lost so much weight was because the heavier you are, the quicker you lose it and he was a very big bloke who was used to eating lots of food every day.

some people lose weight quickly because some peoples bodies react differently to starvation/"crash dieting".

when I was in a hospital, i remember seeing anorexic people, they were so skinny, it was awful and devistating to see.
think of it as this;
if you don't eat for 5 days, you could end up being used to the fact of not eating, your body will get used to it, your stomach will shrink, you'll get weaker, you'll be sick if you do eat and then you will turn out anorexic, and could well end up killing yourself.

Well what im going to try and stick to is basically NightRose's thing, but with the dinner being a bowl of boiled rice, and hopefully that should stop the problems caused by crash diet, but keep the calories down

Im also doing 1 hour a day on an exercise bike, that loses bout 500 cals =)

not really. a salad without any dressing is like 10 calories :| and your body pretty much burns that off when it's digesting it. + the nutrients and all that are worth it.
