He sustained a broken and a collapsed lung.

Not looking good Sky sports news are feeling that his career could be over.

Another blow is gerrard is out for Liverpools champions league game tomorrow :(

"Jamie underwent a series of investigations on Sunday morning which confirmed he has a broken rib and has also developed a pneumothorax. He will continue to be monitored on Sunday but at this stage no further treatment will be required."

Doesn't sound like his career is over...

Like I said up there, he developed a pneumothorax (Which is a collapsed lung I think?) So hopefully all will heal up and he will be back soon. Liverpool have said that the injury doesn't require any more attention for the time being, so I doubt his career is in tatters.

Yer i was just talking to my dad and he said that its a very common injury and he will be back in a few weeks maybe a month
