I think so too, when i was DJing on HabFlash, i had this ClubHabbo pop-up come up without ClubHabbo being on AND i hadn't been on ClubHabbo for like.. a year because i hate it. They shouldn't really do that cos they can say goodbye to their site!

It's an alert on the DJ Panel they have.

I go on clubhabbo regular to see if they stole anything else..
but I don't get the alerts all the time,, just try clearing your cache etc..

im not even sure thats legal.
think about it, they've taken ur IP Address which is in effect personal information, and filed it without ur permission, they are then abusing this information by using it to advertise thru ur computer.
Think about it in this effect.. you call up someone like BT. Once you've hung up, they get ur number, and store it without ur permission. Then imagine they keep calling u up saying "CHECK OUT OUR NEW OFFERS AT BT". That would actually be illegal for them do to that, so tbh i dont see why ClubHabbo think its OK to do this kind of thing, as its basically the same principle... taking personal information without permission and abusing it to advertise O.o

Deleted "Message Toooo Long" <3 Soz

I find it unlikely they have stored his ip address as they use a dj panel just like everyone else..

I don't know how you have recieved that, as that's not an IP alert. I was the person who actually sent out that alert.

It sends it to an iframe on the ClubHabbo site, which automatically refreshes, and displays the alert to you - so that means you must have a trace of the iframe in your cache or open somewhere.

We cannot alert single IPs, nor do we store them, we only store them in competitions, and they are clearley labelled when we do store your IP.

Thanks

They don't keep your IPs. It's a feature on DJ Panel which allows you to send an alert out to everyone who is on the main site.

Yes, this is true. But if you read what he said, he said that he was not on the main site he was on it earlier and then he closed it.

It isn't necessarily illigal to hold your information without your permission, servers automatically log each IP going on their website, and you're not exactly assigning permission, or you could say you were by actually visiting the site. If they were archiving copies of IP addresses to send illigal alerts that would be different...

It's impossible for them to alert your computer cause they've got your IP. There must be a scientific explanation for that, at your end.

They're allowed to keep your IPs, just not to sell them and archive them.

You shouldn't make such accusations, calling them 'Illegal' if you have no idea how the internet and IPs work, as it's really quite mean.

Habbox stores cookies on your actual computer, but I don't see everyone cooking up a fuss about it? Since most websites store cookies on your computer, most just for research, but often to store your preferences and to stay logged in.

From viewing 1 image on the internet, the website can pick up your IP and they don't even need to tell you that.

If you have sent in a request, yes they will have your IP address and they can send you and you alone a message, but there is nothing wrong with them keeping it, say if you send in a rude message or summet, that can keep the IP and ban you from the site.

It is possible to send someone a message through their IP address, but that isn't an IP message. That message was sent through the ClubHabbo website, so you must either be on it, or you have something that is still linking you to it.

My bet is the browser messed up and the webpage was running some how.

By going on there site they can do most things without having to ask for permission.

Also i dont think they would store your IP. It should like some kind of browser error. Your browser must have saved the cookie and the radio panel just sent it to everyone who was online according to the panel.

Also im not sure about this but on a forum you can go online for 2 minutes but appear on the whos online box for a certain amount of time (set in admincp). So maybe a site like clubhabbo is the same?
