Kanye West - Graduation

it leaked onto the internet earlier today. i'm still gonna be buying it, but i thought i'd check it out 11 days earlier. first impressions? it's excellent! a lot of albums recently have taken a while to grow on me but i loved this one instantly. i never really liked stronger as a single, but it's pretty good as part of the album as well.

& because i'm so nice, i uploaded track 2 for everyone to listen to (titled "champion")

i loved his first album, then i wasn't too impressed with the second one so if it continues i shouldn't like the new album at all. oo i'm in a kanye west mood now i'm gonna play the first album ;) classiccc

i've concluded so far that it isn't as good as his previous two albums actually. it's missing the skits. they were just little touches, but they kinda told a story throughout the album and this album would have benefitted from them i think.

i can see this being another flop for me. i'll wait 11 days & then get it, along with 50. dizzee's album was a "flop" (though it was good, just not good enough by his standards) and i haven't exactly thought the world of stronger - lyrics were by far not upto kanye's standards. i've been listening to a lot of college dropout lately & i just can't see it comparing. can only look forward to 50 cent's and the streets' albums when they come out.

kanye is good as usual, but the guests are ****. in the past two albums he's had people like lupe fiasco and twista come on and do some great verses, but pretty much all the guest stars on this are pretty crap. there's also no jay-z on it which i think it really could have done with.

skinner's new album is gonna be ace. he never lets down, he's a bit of a perfectionist like that. the lyrics for stronger aren't up to his standards so i haven't got high hopes for the album. however, fifty cent has released some pretty decent stuff so i'm looking forward to 'curtis' which should be a good album.

Crap album.
Boring and dull with few stand out tracks beyond Stronger & the tracks with Dwele & T-Pain.

50's is better, even though that's not exactly amazing.
Fire with Nicole Scherzinger is great.
