I am just wanting to get some information from you guys. Sorry for creating a new thread, can be merged if needs be but I wanted to add a poll x]

I am creating a News system, MySQL powered. Will have loads of features, I will be mapping the features from the software Cutenews plus other features. It will be MySQL powered

Flat files are slower that MySQL.

Flat files are something I wouldnt like to use as it makes things more complex than MySQL. Exploding everything, having to load a text file just to find small bit of data.

Yes, i would probably convert to a new news system, although if it converted all my data from cutenews i would be much more inclined to.

I may be interested intergrating it within websites I design, if it will be open source. If not, depending on your contracts etc. Saves me time building one if you are going to make it open source! :)

Well it will be open source but copyright must stay intact on the panel. You will be allowed to edit it as much as you like x]

Yes, even tough i dont have site -crie-

Erm make a feacture, so that for example on a section of a vb forum, when someone posts news, a reporter, can click a button, and it copys all content to the news system, were you can quickly edit etc, and it gives a thanks to the original person that posts...

Thanks Simon - I wont be displaying a copyright message on the show news pages but on the panel it will have credit going to my portfolio. At the end of the day, if I am going to hours/days of work - I think any coder deserves to be credited.
