Might aswell let anyone go in and buy it, they still get it and smoke it whatever age! If they want to do it then they can go ahead, just don't smoke it near me :D

Yup It's happening, a change to the law all over the UK. I don't think It'll make much of a difference though. Just means that the people who are getting them now underage will have to wait another 2 years to get them legally. Won't change the fact that they will still be able to get cigarettes and be able to smoke.

she look well angry.
and tbh this is pretty pointless, they can change the law all they like, it won't stop people smoking.
though it doesn't affect me anyway. (:
Steven.

I forgot this is happening till i seen a sign the otherday.
Wont effect much, it will just be a tad harder to get them without the proper age and id, although people will go in and buy them for those still.
There is actually no age to when you can start smoking, just an age limit on the purchase of cigarettes. ;)

I have like 10 a month, secretly, not in front of anyone. It's so calming.
It won't do anything to stop people getting them.

i've always been for raising it to 18 personally, I think 16 is too young.

What a load of rubbish. They just want to be seen as taking action against underage smoking. Nothing more.

I lol'd at that HARD.
The only kids at my school who smoke are the ones who have been involved with the police about 50+ times
I think 16 is more than a suitable age for people to purchase cigs legally. It's their right. I also think the drinking age should be lowered though, 16/17 would be suitable enough.
