Because they scam people, the arent rly poor, well some are.
Once there was a woman selling it and she had a plastic baby wrapped up in her arms

yes, they are. :l
considering they have to be legally registered as homeless to sell it.
i do volunteer work with Crisis at Christmas, a free homeless shelter, and they sign people up there.

No and I think it's because the majority of people who buy it are adults.

I dont buy it, but I give them any spare change if I see someone seeling it at the end of my day. I mean its only like 50p's or 20p's but if I know Im not going to spend it, someone should ;D

i dont buy it. but i often give change, and my mum knows the man who sells it kindaa, and he has a dog, and he smiles and says hi so yanoo. he's an evertonian too!

and the people that sell it are homeless, they sell the magazines and get a share of the money, not much. but they get shelter too from selling them.

Whenever I go to chester I ALWAYS buy it off the same guy. The one who is next to WHSmith near the bus stop. If you ever go to Chester you will have seen him, he is outside HSBC (near the precinct).

Before or after you tried to steal someones walking stick..?

I actually hope you made that up to try and look 'big', and didn't actually do it. Its the 'buskers', that sit down in streets and say 'Spare change please?' that are often faking it, not the Big Issue sellers.

I dont buy it and never would and 2 of the reasons are below :o
I earn my money for me not looking after others :Ocass14 But at least they are actually selling a product and suppose some peope might find it a good read. they are not just begging for your cash like the drunken bums near the cash machines.

I imagine quite a few of the sellers go by the rules but.......
I know one who is classed as homeless but lives with his g/f which is wrong.
I am pretty sure the sellers are supposed to be drug free and made to take regular drug tests to prove it? well there are quite a few in Leicester who are clearly taking drugs and selling the big issue.
