Not sure what to do..

Theres this girl iv been friends with for ages, I really like her, I want to ask her out, I've been flirting with her, but i think she thinks im joking with her, If i ask her out then she says no, i still want ot be friends with her but i dont think shell want to anymore...

What should i do?

I have been in this position before, the girl flirted with me aswell and well I'm not going to tell you the outcome unless you want to know.

I would say go for it, if you really like her then in any situation you should always go for it.
If she is a true friend she won't really mind that you like her (If she dont like you) but the best thing to do is to prepair yourself because she may not like you the same way, and if she doesn't then at least your prepaird to lose her.

Everyone's saying just ask her but Ive been in the position and it's not that simple.

Firstly think how she would react to you asking her out. Would she freak or wouldn't she mind? Would she keep bringing it up or would she forget about it? Then decide whether its still best to ask her.
Secondly you got to think about asking her. I suggest you don't do it over text, IM etc. your best just telling it to her face. This may also help you in the longer run when you get older and asking girls out.
Thirdly if she says yes, then that's great and you can begin working on your relationship but if she says no, you have to respect her answer and just be glad that you two are friends. You never know she could always change her mind in a few months.

Basically if you think she won't mind then ask her, if she says yes that's great if she doesn't accept her answer and make sure you still stay friends and that it doesn't effect your friendship.
