I've decided I'm importing when it comes out in the US ;]

I have a little idea of how to make it work ;]

I was thinking of importing.
Though I'd rather wait 2 months than spend £250 on a Jap Wii and £50 on the game.

American copies of the game still won't work on European Wii's.

There's a way, you put an EU disc in and go to start menu, then quickly export it and put the US game in and hit start as fast as you can.
Need to be quick though it just works with EU/USA

Are you SURE? That sounds like something someone has just made up to trick people.

Just been watching Subspace Emissary videos and the story looks awesome and the graphics... holy ****... with all the hype over the updates and such I forgot about the graphics... they look AMAZING!

Hmm might be worth a go if I already had an American game. Don't think I'd buy one and risk it.

Eh, I dunno.
Aint tried though you could import something like Wii Chess for $20

Even after Super Smash Bros. Brawl goes public, there’ll be a bunch of Assist Trophies that haven’t been introduced yet.
I don’t want you to get confused and ask, "What the heck is THAT?" So I’ve gotten them all together and made a guide for you!

Metroid

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist15/assist15_080206_art1.jpg
Like the name says, this Assist Trophy is from the game Metroid. It’s an artificial life-form that absorbs all kinds of energy.
In our game, it also attaches to the head and starts to drain its victim. Since it will increase your damage, try to shake it loose.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist15/assist15_080206a.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist15/assist15_080206a-l.jpg)

No! Stop! Get off my head!

Tingle

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist15/assist15_080206_art2.jpg
Tingle’s appeared in quite a few games, and here he appears as he did in "The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker". This self-styled fairy is 35 years old and still single!
He calls up all sorts of effects at random.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist15/assist15_080206b.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist15/assist15_080206b-l.jpg)

"Tingle! Tingle! Kooloo-limpah!"

Kat & Ana

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist15/assist15_080206_art3.jpg
These girls appear in the WarioWare series. They’re twin ninja nursery school children! And when you put their names together, it spells "Katana".
They have a brilliant dance combination that can cut people to pieces!

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist15/assist15_080206c.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist15/assist15_080206c-l.jpg)

Run away! Run away! But...there’s nowhere to run!

Jeff

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist15/assist15_080206_art4.jpg
Dr. Andonuts’s son. In EarthBound, he uses his super-intelligence to create lots of inventions.
In our game, he uses the Multi-Bottle Rocket 5. He can launch four mini-rockets and one mega-rocket.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist15/assist15_080206d.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist15/assist15_080206d-l.jpg)

A guided missile... Lovely.

Helirin

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist15/assist15_080206_art5.jpg
The Helirin is from Kuru Kuru Kururin. It’s a flying machine with long rotor blades that slowly rotate.
But it doesn’t really carry out attacks. It becomes part of the terrain, so you can ride on it. Sometimes it even gets in the way!

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist15/assist15_080206e.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist15/assist15_080206e-l.jpg)

An unforeseen accident!

Jill & Drill Dozer

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist15/assist15_080206_art6.jpg
Jill is the daughter of the boss of the bandit gang known as The Red Dozers. She rides the Drill Dozer, and she means business.
Her weapon is a giant drill, of course! The drill and nothing but the drill! She never thinks of retreating, it seems.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist15/assist15_080206f.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist15/assist15_080206f-l.jpg)

Man, I’m even afraid of dentist drills...

Nintendogs

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist15/assist15_080206_art7.jpg
These guys appear in Nintendogs, of course. They play kind of close to the screen, but let’s just indulge them, OK?
This Nintendog is a Labrador retriever. Labradors are really popular all over the world.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist15/assist15_080206g.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist15/assist15_080206g-l.jpg)

They wait for things to get really heated, then they come and tease you.

Lakitu

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist15/assist15_080206_art8.jpg
The famous character Lakitu appears in 2D. He’s from the Super Mario Bros. series.
Lakitu drops spiked eggs, which then hatch into Spinies. They’re kind of like spiky turtles. Those spikes sure look like they hurt...

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist15/assist15_080206h.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist15/assist15_080206h-l.jpg)

I’m always happy when he comes out in a Multi-Man Brawl.

Hammer Bros.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist15/assist15_080206_art9.jpg
These guys are also from Super Mario Bros. They’re pretty tough, so they tend to make a "big impact" on players.
They throw their hammers in big arcs, and also appear in The Subspace Emissary as enemy characters.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist15/assist15_080206i.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist15/assist15_080206i-l.jpg)

Heave-ho – ouch!
Even if you get an Assist Trophy, it won’t come out until you hoist it over your head while on the ground. But once you do, it really changes the course of the fight!

Marth

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden02/hidden02.jpg

Marth’s a royal prince from the Fire Emblem series who also is featured in the opening cinematic for the game.

He attacks with flowing blade work and special moves that enhance his offensive and defensive capabilities. You’ll want to play with Marth in a manner that befits his graceful style.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden02/hidden02_080207a.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden02/hidden02_080207a-l.jpg)http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden02/hidden02_080207b.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden02/hidden02_080207b-l.jpg)http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden02/hidden02_080207c.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden02/hidden02_080207c-l.jpg)http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden02/hidden02_080207d.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden02/hidden02_080207d-l.jpg)

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/images/common/chara_hidden_btn.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/hidden02s.html?keepThis=true&TB_iframe=true&height=360&width=450)

Marth's Special Moves

Standard Special Move --- Shield Breaker
Side Special Move --- Dancing Blade
Up Special Move --- Dolphin Slash
Down Special Move --- Counter
Final Smash --- Critical Hit

Tips

If there’s one tip I want to make sure you remember when playing Marth, it’s that the tip of Marth’s sword produces stronger attacks. Attack like you want to just nick the bridge of the opponent’s nose.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden02/hidden02_080207e.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden02/hidden02_080207e-l.jpg)

Hit the opponent with a strong side attack from up close and you’ll do 8% damage.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden02/hidden02_080207f.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden02/hidden02_080207f-l.jpg)

Hit them with the tip of your sword and you’ll do 12%.

Marth’s side special, the Dancing Blade, offers nine separate attacks, which is the most of any special move in the game.

Time the button presses for this attack while moving the Control Stick into the up, down, or neutral positions to perform different offensive moves.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden02/hidden02_080207g.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden02/hidden02_080207g-l.jpg)

Start things off by pressing sideways as well as the special move button.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden02/hidden02_080207h.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden02/hidden02_080207h-l.jpg)http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden02/hidden02_080207i.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden02/hidden02_080207i-l.jpg)

On attack number two, you can choose between two attacks.

Hold up on the Control Stick or let it rest in the neutral

position. (For this attack, you can also produce the same attack as neutral by tilting down on the Control Stick.)

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden02/hidden02_080207j.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden02/hidden02_080207j-l.jpg)http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden02/hidden02_080207k.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden02/hidden02_080207k-l.jpg)http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden02/hidden02_080207l.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden02/hidden02_080207l-l.jpg)

Attack number three lets you chose between three attacks. Up, neutral, and down.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden02/hidden02_080207m.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden02/hidden02_080207m-l.jpg)http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden02/hidden02_080207n.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden02/hidden02_080207n-l.jpg)http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden02/hidden02_080207o.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden02/hidden02_080207o-l.jpg)

And now for the finale. Choose between up, down, or neutral.

Next there’s Marth’s counter, a move that can clinch the match for players who have mastered it. Ike has this move as well.

If an opponent lands an attack on you while Marth is in his counter stance, he’ll deflect the blow and strike back with a quick counterattack.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden02/hidden02_080207p.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden02/hidden02_080207p-l.jpg)

Ike delivers a ferocious blow!

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden02/hidden02_080207q.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden02/hidden02_080207q-l.jpg)

Marth counters in a flash!

When you land a counter like this, let me tell you, it feels sooooo good!

Let’s continue. Marth’s counterattack delivers damage at 1.1 times the power of the attack he was hit with and will always do a minimum of 8% damage.

Ike’s counter doesn’t go up as quickly, but does 1.2 times the damage with a minimum attack power of 10%.

Regardless of the damage dealt, counters will not knock back opponents any further than the attack deflected.

Now, on to Marth’s Final Smash...

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden02/hidden02_080207r.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden02/hidden02_080207r-l.jpg)

A single critical hit!

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden02/hidden02_080207s.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden02/hidden02_080207s-l.jpg)

Bleepbleepbleepbleep!

Huh? What the-?! Is that a life gauge I see?!

...Must have just been my imagination!

2 updates for Friday (today)

Power Suit Samus
When you let loose with Zero Suit Samus’ Final Smash, she re-equips her Power Suit.
Yes, Zero Suit Samus isn’t the stoutest of fighters, so picking up a Smash Ball is cause for relief.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/zerosuit_samus/zerosuit_samus_080208a.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/zerosuit_samus/zerosuit_samus_080208a-l.jpg)
She’s on standby and ready to rock!
http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/zerosuit_samus/zerosuit_samus_080208b.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/zerosuit_samus/zerosuit_samus_080208b-l.jpg)
Energy swirls around Samus.
http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/zerosuit_samus/zerosuit_samus_080208c.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/zerosuit_samus/zerosuit_samus_080208c-l.jpg)
Then she transforms!
http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/zerosuit_samus/zerosuit_samus_080208d.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/zerosuit_samus/zerosuit_samus_080208d-l.jpg)
It’s Samus! Samus! Samus!
The whirl of energy that appears before Zero Suit Samus’ transformation sucks enemies into the chaos.
I should probably tell you that only Samus is available on the character-selection screen. So what should you do when you feel like playing as Zero Suit Samus from the get-go?

1: At the character-selection screen, hold down a shield button, then proceed to the next screen.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/zerosuit_samus/zerosuit_samus_080208e.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/zerosuit_samus/zerosuit_samus_080208e-l.jpg)
The Power Suit falls away in fragments.

2: Quickly input taunts ↑↓↑.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/zerosuit_samus/zerosuit_samus_080208f.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/zerosuit_samus/zerosuit_samus_080208f-l.jpg)
What’s this? ...So you can shed your armour anytime you want?!
Thing is, you’re going to have to put that command in pretty darn fast in order for it to work. If you’ve set your taunts to the +Control Pad on your controller, you’ll eventually input the command correctly if you rapidly hammer up and down on the +Control Pad.
It’s not easy, but how awesome is it that you can make Samus coolly switch between two completely different fighting forms? Try it out next time you feel like showing off.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamemode/modea/images/modea13/modea13_080208a.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/movies/movie080208a.html?keepThis=true&TB_iframe=true&height=300&width=430)
Man, Meta Knight and Marth are both so slick, aren’t they?
The story in The Subspace Emissary unfolds with virtually no dialogue. Every so often you might hear a character yell out their trademark battle cry for a particular special move, but for the most part, things move along at a good clip unaided by voiced lines. (I used a similar technique in the Kirby animated series as well.)
During the story, some characters are (or at least appear to be) familiar with some of the other personalities that appear along the way. However there are several characters that will treat each other as complete strangers at first, just like Marth and Meta Knight did in the movie above.
What spurred these two, who had formerly viewed each other as enemies, to band together? It’s because they realise now that they are united against common enemies, known as the Subspace Army.
Now I know some will think, "Well, duh! Marth and Meta Knight would know that at a glance! Neither of them looks like a Primid!" But look at Wario and Bowser. Both of them are residents of "this world" and yet they are on the side of the Subspace Army.
While members of the Subspace Army are easy enough to spot at a glance, working out who’s an enemy and who’s an ally is much harder with other characters. My advice is to remember that old saying: The enemy of my enemy is my friend.
...That said, there is one character who has a rather unusual method by which they can distinguish friend from foe...

There are quite a few techniques that didn’t make their way into the Instruction Booklet.
I’ll try not to get too technical with things, but just know that there are lots of small tricks like these for you to play around with.

Ukemi
When a blow sends you flying, tap the shield button just before you come into contact with the ground, wall, or ceiling. You’ll bound off the surface with a little hop and, like a judo master, cancel any excess momentum that would have otherwise kept you careening around wildly.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/howto/technique/images/technique10/technique10_080211a.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/howto/technique/images/technique10/technique10_080211a-l.jpg)

Press with just the right timing.
Since mid-air move-based recoveries have become more fluid, I believe some will find this technique to be slightly less important than it was in the previous game.

Perfect Shield
The enemy closes in to attack. You draw him or her closer, then closer still, and just before the blow connects...
Clang! You just performed a perfect shield! You’ll recover from the blow you just blocked with almost no delay and are in a perfect position to launch a counterattack!

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/howto/technique/images/technique10/technique10_080211b.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/howto/technique/images/technique10/technique10_080211b-l.jpg)

If you do a perfect shield on a big hit, get ready to strike back!

Stale-Move Negation
Use a particular move too many times and the damage it deals will begin to decrease!
And so it should. Let’s face it; it takes more skill to use a character’s full move set than to rely on the same attack over and over.
Moves will decrease in attack power when used repeatedly and get progressively weaker with additional usage, so try and use a wide variety of attacks.
Also, if you feel like your attacks just aren’t launching the opponent as far as they should... Once again, I suggest you try mixing it up a little bit.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/howto/technique/images/technique10/technique10_080211c.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/howto/technique/images/technique10/technique10_080211c-l.jpg)

Hey, don’t you think it’s time you, y’know, tried some other moves?

Glancing Blows
This isn’t really a technique so much as it is a little tidbit of Smash info.
When your attack just grazes the opponent you’ll hear a little "chik", meaning you’ve just barely grazed the opponent.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/howto/technique/images/technique10/technique10_080211d.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/howto/technique/images/technique10/technique10_080211d-l.jpg)

A glancing blow just nicks the opponent so don’t expect your enemy to flinch.

Swim
In Brawl you can actually swim a little bit when you’re in water. You’ll soon drown though, and the more damage you’ve accumulated, the less time you’ll be able to stay afloat.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/howto/technique/images/technique10/technique10_080211e.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/howto/technique/images/technique10/technique10_080211e-l.jpg)

We’re... We’re going under!

Small Jump
This technique is absolutely vital in a scuffle.
Every character has a momentary animation before they jump where they sort of hunker down. If you let off the jump button before this animation ends you’ll perform a small jump.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/howto/technique/images/technique10/technique10_080211f.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/howto/technique/images/technique10/technique10_080211f-l.jpg)

Here’s a comparison with a standard jump.
Try using small jumps to close in and score hits on your opponents while dodging their attacks.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/howto/technique/images/technique10/technique10_080211g.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/howto/technique/images/technique10/technique10_080211g-l.jpg)

Just take a little leap.

Pivot Grab
While dashing, press the direction opposite your current heading while performing a grab. You’ll get more range out of this kind of grab, so try pulling a 180 and scooping up your unsuspecting opponent with it.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/howto/technique/images/technique10/technique10_080211h.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/howto/technique/images/technique10/technique10_080211h-l.jpg)

You can grab from this far away!

Eating While Reclining
Let’s say you’ve just taken a solid hit. You go flying and collapse on the ground.
You notice a few tasty food items on the ground near you.
If this describes your situation, now’s the time to hit the A Button. You can scoop up food items and eat them without even standing up.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/howto/technique/images/technique10/technique10_080211i.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/howto/technique/images/technique10/technique10_080211i-l.jpg)

Mmm... Tasty!

Breaking Reflectors
・Mario’s Cape
・Fox’s Reflector
・Pit’s Angel Ring and Mirror Shield
・Zelda’s Naryu’s Love
...And so on. All these moves have the ability to reflect incoming projectiles back at your opponent. When you use one of these to send back an attack, it actually increases the damage that projectile does.
But if you and your opponent pump up a projectile’s damage too high, say by reflecting it back and forth...the projectile will become too powerful and break through your reflecting device.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/howto/technique/images/technique10/technique10_080211j.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/howto/technique/images/technique10/technique10_080211j-l.jpg)

You’ll take a heavily powered-up shot straight to the body, so you know it’s going to hurt.

GommeInc

What happens when you've broken your reflector? Does it come back when you're hit off the stage or will it not return till the end of the match?

Did moves decrease after you used them too much in Melee?
You can still do the shield thing in the air, right?
Quite a few techniques that didn't make their way into the Instruction Booklet?

My expectations are beginning to decrease.

Gomme, I think it just comes back after you've been hit. Like after you've broke your shield for using it too long.

By shield in the air you mean dodge in the air?

Please tell me where I mentioned online in my post? All I said was my expectations were decreasing. I'll still own you online. :P

I still know how to air dodge and crap though it wont even count in Brawl cause you cant.
I have Smash 64 for my Nintendo 64 still and cake take down 3 Level 9 Fox's.

Speaking frankly, this stage throws all the basic rules of Smash out the window!

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/images/common/chara_hidden_btn.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/stage26s.html?keepThis=true&TB_iframe=true&height=270&width=450)

Oho! Now THAT’S a faithful recreation!
Low ceilings over most areas of the stage make standard KOs much more difficult.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage26/stage26_080212b.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage26/stage26_080212b-l.jpg)

See? Like I said, normal KOs are tough to get here.
So, you’ll just have to use the creatures wandering around the stage to do your dirty work.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage26/stage26_080212c.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage26/stage26_080212c-l.jpg)

Here’s a Shellcreeper and a Sidestepper.
You can flip them on their backs by attacking them or by giving them a bump from below.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage26/stage26_080212d.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage26/stage26_080212d-l.jpg)

Flop!
Once it’s upside down, grab it and chuck it at someone. If it hits an opponent, they’ll fly directly sideways!

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage26/stage26_080212e.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage26/stage26_080212e-l.jpg)

Whoa there! Look how it sends ‘em flying!
You’ll spend a lot of time taking flying Shellcreepers to the face and getting smacked by Sidesteppers roaming the stage.
The play style here is completely different from what you’ll find on all the other stages, so you can look forward to something new!

These are the kind of parts you can unlock in Stage Builder.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/images/common/chara_hidden_btn.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamemode/various/various27s.html?keepThis=true&TB_iframe=true&height=350&width=450)

Terrain like you’ve never seen before...

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamemode/various/images/various27/various27_080213b.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamemode/various/images/various27/various27_080213b-l.jpg)

Like gondolas you might find on a Ferris wheel...

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamemode/various/images/various27/various27_080213c.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamemode/various/images/various27/various27_080213c-l.jpg)

And conveyor belts...

Or springboards...
These are all additional parts you can use in Stage Builder. If you use parts well to build new stages, you’ll get more. It’s pretty simple to unlock them.
Don’t worry if you don’t have a lot of parts at first. More will begin to appear fairly quickly.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamemode/various/images/various27/various27_080213e.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamemode/various/images/various27/various27_080213e-l.jpg)

Eventually, things start to get pretty fancy!

Using Yoshi’s special moves obviously calls for becoming an expert at throwing eggs.

Up Special Move: Egg Throw

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/yoshi/yoshi_080213a.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/yoshi/yoshi_080213a-l.jpg)

This is what happens if you just do a normal throw.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/yoshi/yoshi_080213b.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/yoshi/yoshi_080213b-l.jpg)

If you hold the button down, both speed and distance increase.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/yoshi/yoshi_080213c.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/yoshi/yoshi_080213c-l.jpg)

If you tilt the Control Stick forwards when you throw, the angle of the throw will be more horizontal.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/yoshi/yoshi_080213d.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/yoshi/yoshi_080213d-l.jpg)

If you tilt the Control Stick backwards when you throw, the angle of the throw will be more vertical.
The length you hold the button and the direction you move the stick allow for all sorts of combinations. If you can master them all, your range of attack will be really huge!

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/yoshi/yoshi_080213e.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/yoshi/yoshi_080213e-l.jpg)

Thiiiiis huge!

Standard Special Move: Egg Lay
This move captures your opponent in an egg. Yoshi is pretty scary when he uses his tongue attack.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/yoshi/yoshi_080213f.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/yoshi/yoshi_080213f-l.jpg)

Schlurrrp!

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/yoshi/yoshi_080213g.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/yoshi/yoshi_080213g-l.jpg)

Pop!

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/yoshi/yoshi_080213h.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/yoshi/yoshi_080213h-l.jpg)

And off into the abyss...
If you get trapped in an egg in mid-air, you can move left and right to try to avoid falling off edges. Also, you can break out of the egg by tilting the Control Stick back and forth.
However, if you’ve taken a lot of damage, it will be harder to break free. So if you’re taking a beating, you’ve got to be careful of surprise attacks!

Even the places you won’t see have been made just right...
One of the key features of the terrain here is the big, gently-sloping dip in the ground. It’s a good place for Sonic to make runs through.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage27/stage27_080214c.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage27/stage27_080214c-l.jpg)

No stopping now!
However, if it takes enough impact from attacks, the middle sections of the ground drop off.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage27/stage27_080214d.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage27/stage27_080214d-l.jpg)

The ground falls away in blocks.
The surface splits in three places. As the terrain changes, your tactics also have to change. Take a look at the items that are appearing, your opponents, etc., and adjust accordingly.
On the course in the background, three guests will occasionally pass by: Tails, Knuckles and Silver.

Luigi

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden03/hidden03.jpg

Luigi is the dreamy, comical poster boy of the Smash series, and everywhere he goes his slightly awkward presence is felt.
This time around I’d like to present him as less of the eternal second fiddle – and maybe give him a new title, like "everyone’s favourite man in green"!

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden03/hidden03_080215a.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden03/hidden03_080215a-l.jpg)http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden03/hidden03_080215b.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden03/hidden03_080215b-l.jpg)http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden03/hidden03_080215c.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden03/hidden03_080215c-l.jpg)http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden03/hidden03_080215d.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden03/hidden03_080215d-l.jpg)

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/images/common/chara_hidden_btn.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/hidden03s.html?keepThis=true&TB_iframe=true&height=350&width=450)

Luigi's Special Moves
Standard Special Move --- Fireball
Side Special Move --- Green Missile
Up Special Move --- Super Jump Punch
Down Special Move --- Luigi Cyclone
Final Smash --- Negative Zone

Tips

Up Special Move: Super Jump Punch

The Super Jump Punch is Luigi’s calling card.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden03/hidden03_080215e.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden03/hidden03_080215e-l.jpg)

If you just catch the opponent with it, Luigi will only knock out a single coin.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden03/hidden03_080215f.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden03/hidden03_080215f-l.jpg)

BUT! When you get in close and connect from the beginning of the move...

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden03/hidden03_080215g.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden03/hidden03_080215g-l.jpg)

PING! Luigi sends ‘em rocketing skywards!

You could call this the Fire Jump Punch. It’s more potent on the ground than in the air, so try catching the enemy off guard with it after a quick dash or evasive roll.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden03/hidden03_080215h.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden03/hidden03_080215h-l.jpg)

Sadly, Luigi’s a sitting duck after this attack.

Side Special Move: Green Missile

Boost the damage and distance the Green Missile can fly by holding down the special-move button!

Occasionally, regardless of whether you charge the move or not, the Green Missile will launch explosively!

This happens about 1/8th of the time and dramatically boosts the power of the attack!

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden03/hidden03_080215i.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden03/hidden03_080215i-l.jpg)

Remember to aim carefully before blasting off.

Final Smash: Negative Zone

When you trigger Luigi’s Final Smash, funky world music fades in and the immediate area becomes wrapped up in the Negative Zone.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden03/hidden03_080215j.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden03/hidden03_080215j-l.jpg)

You’re on Luigi’s turf now!

Opponents who set foot in the Negative Zone are plagued by a random assortment of effects including:

Drastically reduced attack power
Greater launch distance when hit
Increased likelihood of slipping
Steady increase in damage percentage
Flower growth on head
Dizziness
Uncontrollable taunting
Sudden sleepiness
Decreased movement speed...And so on.

If you fall asleep or get dizzy here, you’ll have no way to avoid the inevitable Super Jump Punch that will seal your fate!!

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden03/hidden03_080215k.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden03/hidden03_080215k-l.jpg)

Easy pickings. Mmm mmm.

If your opponent unleashes the Negative Zone, at least try to stay in the air. While aloft you won’t suddenly sleep, slip or start taunting.

Luigi’s Mansion looks to be Luigi’s new pad, but there’s something...a little creepy about the place.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/images/common/chara_hidden_btn.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/stage28s.html?keepThis=true&TB_iframe=true&height=270&width=450)

Is it a proud estate? Or maybe a haunted mansion?
All these different rooms are visible, kind of like a cross section.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage28/stage28_080218b.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage28/stage28_080218b-l.jpg)

Whoa. Leaving so many swanky rooms for Luigi’s exclusive use seems like a waste.
What I’d really like you to look at are the four pillars in the room. When you attack these pillars and destroy them, the area of the house supported by that pillar crumbles to pieces!

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage28/stage28_080218c.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage28/stage28_080218c-l.jpg)

I-it’s collapsing! My apologies to the owner!
But you know, since we’ve already come this far, I guess we’ve got no choice but to tear the whole place down!

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage28/stage28_080218d.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage28/stage28_080218d-l.jpg)

It’s gone... All gone.
While it may seem unusually cruel to Luigi, you shouldn’t hesitate to go ahead and smash down the house if it will give you the upper hand in a brawl.
...Besides, if you just wait a while, the place puts itself back together anyway.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage28/stage28_080218f.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage28/stage28_080218f-l.jpg)

What?! Well, it makes sense. We all knew it was no ordinary mansion.

Play a little and you’ll soon find this out for yourself, but here’s some advice – when fighting as the Ice Climbers, making sure your partner, Nana, stays alive is key.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/iceclimbers/iceclimbers_080219a.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/iceclimbers/iceclimbers_080219a-l.jpg)

Your attacks suffer when you’re alone...

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/iceclimbers/iceclimbers_080219b.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/iceclimbers/iceclimbers_080219b-l.jpg)

...but together you’ll hit harder and score multiple hits!
The difference is even more dramatic when performing special moves.

Standard Special Move: Ice Shot

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/iceclimbers/iceclimbers_080219c.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/iceclimbers/iceclimbers_080219c-l.jpg)

Popo fires off a lone chunk of ice that sliiides away.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/iceclimbers/iceclimbers_080219d.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/iceclimbers/iceclimbers_080219d-l.jpg)

With Nana by your side, your attack is doubled!
With two shots you can relax, safe in the knowledge that you don’t need to worry about your attack being reflected, since one projectile will cancel out the other upon being repelled.
This will be a constant source of headaches to your opponent.

Side Special Move: Squall Hammer

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/iceclimbers/iceclimbers_080219e.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/iceclimbers/iceclimbers_080219e-l.jpg)

Popo spins around and around. It’s not useless or anything...

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/iceclimbers/iceclimbers_080219f.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/iceclimbers/iceclimbers_080219f-l.jpg)

But this is much better!
You can also rapidly press the special-move button to rise higher into the air while doing this move, a secondary function whose rate of ascent is also improved when you perform this move with both climbers.

Up Special Move: Belay

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/iceclimbers/iceclimbers_080219g.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/iceclimbers/iceclimbers_080219g-l.jpg)

Popo’s just going through the motions here. He probably had to work out a kink in his shoulder.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/iceclimbers/iceclimbers_080219h.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/iceclimbers/iceclimbers_080219h-l.jpg)

When you use Belay with two climbers, they perform a feat that leaves you dazzled at the depths of their friendship!
Belay has virtually no effect when performed alone. This is a real example of how you’ll need both climbers for success.

Down Special Move: Blizzard

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/iceclimbers/iceclimbers_080219i.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/iceclimbers/iceclimbers_080219i-l.jpg)

This short-range projectile move freezes the enemy.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/iceclimbers/iceclimbers_080219j.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/iceclimbers/iceclimbers_080219j-l.jpg)

But with the two climbers together, you’re guarded from both sides!

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/iceclimbers/iceclimbers_080219k.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/iceclimbers/iceclimbers_080219k-l.jpg)

Use it in the air and both climbers will face the same direction for double the power!
Following up a small jump with a mid-air blizzard can come in pretty handy.
So playing Ice Climbers boils down to Nana. It’s all about Nana.
Like a team of skilled mountain climbers striving to reach the peak, you must honour and cherish the bond that binds you with your team-mate as you fight together.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/iceclimbers/iceclimbers_080219l.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/iceclimbers/iceclimbers_080219l-l.jpg)

Ahem... And let’s overlook our friend’s occasional impulse to wander off, shall we?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Standard Special Move: Nayru’s Love
Some sort of crystal forms on Zelda’s sides and revolves around her, shielding her body. It won’t last as long in the air as it does on the ground, so be careful.
The crystal is like a deflector shield. Projectile weapons will bounce off it.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/zelda/zelda_080219a.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/zelda/zelda_080219a-l.jpg)

Use it quick and watch it work!

Side Special Move: Din’s Fire
A short burst of flame... Uh, but it’s not too powerful...

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/zelda/zelda_080219b.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/zelda/zelda_080219b-l.jpg)

Pop!
See, you can’t just use Din’s Fire like that.
First, you have to hold the special-move button and store up flame energy. Next, you have to remember to aim the flame by tilting up and down. Once you’ve stored up enough energy, Din’s Fire is unrivalled!

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/zelda/zelda_080219c.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/zelda/zelda_080219c-l.jpg)

If you use it right, you can hit opponents even at this range!
If you’re the target of this special move, you can learn the timing of the explosion pretty easily. Get in the air and perform a mid-air dodge (use the shield button while in the air) to try to dodge the attack.

Up Special Move: Farore’s Wind
This special move can be used for evasion and to get back to solid ground. You’ll fly in the direction you tilt the Control Stick at the moment Zelda disappears.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/zelda/zelda_080219d.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/zelda/zelda_080219d-l.jpg)

Now tilt the Control Stick in the direction you want to go.
You can go to the side, up or down. It moves you quite a long way, and may be quicker than running. I think you’ll be using this move a lot in The Subspace Emissary.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/zelda/zelda_080219e.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/zelda/zelda_080219e-l.jpg)

Whoa! You might not always make it to a safe landing, so be careful!

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden04/hidden04.jpgFalco is a pilot from the Star Fox series. He’s a cool customer who likes doing things his own way.
He has the best initial jump of all the characters, and he likes shooting his Blaster as he leaps about.

Be aware – Falco’s moves have changed a lot since he appeared in Super Smash Bros. Melee.

Falco’s Smash Attack looks like it could take an ear off!!

Side Special Move: Falco Phantasm
A pretty scary move depending on how you use it.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden04/hidden04_080220g.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden04/hidden04_080220g-l.jpg)

Just like a meteor!
If you do this move too much though, you’re headed for self-destruction, so use it with care.
Or maybe you might want to use your down mid-air attack instead?

Down Special Move: Reflector
The Reflector reflects enemy projectile weapons. You kick it away from you to turn it into an attack.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden04/hidden04_080220i.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden04/hidden04_080220i-l.jpg)
Kick!
It doesn’t have much attack power, but it can be good for containing an enemy’s attack. Of course, it also eliminates enemy projectiles.

Final Smash: Landmaster
Since Falco’s element is more in the sky, his Landmaster is not as powerful as Fox’s. Its manoeuvrability on land also is a little bit lacking.
However, its flight ability more than makes up for its other shortcomings.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden04/hidden04_080220j.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden04/hidden04_080220j-l.jpg)
Give a lift to your opponents when they have nowhere left to run...

...then take them off the screen!!
There’s no way for your enemies to hurt the Landmaster while it’s on-screen, so don’t worry and let her rip!

Side Special Move: Flying Slam
This is Bowser’s megamonster move: the Flying Slam!

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/bowser/bowser_080221a.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/bowser/bowser_080221a-l.jpg)

First, he grabs...

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/bowser/bowser_080221b.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/bowser/bowser_080221b-l.jpg)

...then he jumps...

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/bowser/bowser_080221c.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/bowser/bowser_080221c-l.jpg)

SLLAAAMMO!
You can even grab someone in mid-air, making this move a real mean one.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/bowser/bowser_080221d.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/bowser/bowser_080221d-l.jpg)

He’s diving off the edge with his opponent! That’s not nice!
If this was a stock battle and you and your opponent each had one life left, this would be a win for Bowser since he is on top and his enemy would go off-screen first.
But please don’t worry. The opponent will be able to affect side-to-side movement just like Bowser.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/bowser/bowser_080221e.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/bowser/bowser_080221e-l.jpg)

The opponent can fight back.
The effectiveness of this resistance depends on the damage gauge. The less damage the opponent has, the stronger he or she will be able to resist.
Likewise, Bowser will find it harder to control his enemy if he has taken a lot of damage.

Down Special Move: Bowser Bomb
Bowser’s down special move, the Bowser Bomb, is really powerful, but also leaves him really open.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/bowser/bowser_080221f.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/bowser/bowser_080221f-l.jpg)

Whoooomp!
When using this move while on the ground, you can attack when the enemy is right in front of you.
If the initial attack connects...

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/bowser/bowser_080221g.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/bowser/bowser_080221g-l.jpg)

...you’ll launch your opponent up...

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/bowser/bowser_080221h.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/bowser/bowser_080221h-l.jpg)

...and you can get a combination hit as you drop!
Whichever way you do it, if your opponent dodges, they’ll have you wide open. Try not to use this move at the wrong time!

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/bowser/bowser_080221i.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/bowser/bowser_080221i-l.jpg)

Stop! Stop! Don’t attack me when I’m helpless!

-----------------------------------------------------------

This might be too advanced to bring up in Smash ABC, but it’s such a good move and doing it feels so good that I want to introduce it.
If you make good contact with Mario on a forward mid-air attack, your opponent will shoot straight down.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/howto/basic/images/basic10/basic10_080221a.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/howto/basic/images/basic10/basic10_080221a-l.jpg)

Bonnnnk!
This move is called a meteor smash. If you use this move when your opponent is trying to get back to solid ground, well...

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/howto/basic/images/basic10/basic10_080221b.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/howto/basic/images/basic10/basic10_080221b-l.jpg)

Now! Go NOW!

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/howto/basic/images/basic10/basic10_080221c.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/howto/basic/images/basic10/basic10_080221c-l.jpg)

DONNNK!!

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/howto/basic/images/basic10/basic10_080221d.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/howto/basic/images/basic10/basic10_080221d-l.jpg)

Nailed ‘em!

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/howto/basic/images/basic10/basic10_080221e.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/howto/basic/images/basic10/basic10_080221e-l.jpg)

Whoa, don’t forget to recover...
There are actually several types of meteor smashes.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/howto/basic/images/basic10/basic10_080221f.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/howto/basic/images/basic10/basic10_080221f-l.jpg)

For Donkey Kong, the spot where you hit is crucial when performing a forward mid-air attack.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/howto/basic/images/basic10/basic10_080221g.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/howto/basic/images/basic10/basic10_080221g-l.jpg)

Kirby’s down mid-air attack can score consecutive hits.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/howto/basic/images/basic10/basic10_080221h.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/howto/basic/images/basic10/basic10_080221h-l.jpg)

Some of Link’s down strong attacks will cause an opponent to fall as well.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/howto/basic/images/basic10/basic10_080221i.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/howto/basic/images/basic10/basic10_080221i-l.jpg)

For the Ice Climbers, only Nana can do meteor smashes!
Well, you might not always blast your opponents off the screen, but there’s no harm in remembering these moves.
And this is the last entry for Smash ABC. If you’ve got it all down, then you’ll be able to smash with anyone.

Today:

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden05/hidden05.jpg He’s making his entrance a little late, but here he is – the famous F-Zero pilot, Captain Falcon!
This time around, he’s bringing his pride and joy, the F-Zero machine called the Blue Falcon, to the brawl. This inclusion ought to boost his macho, tough-guy reputation significantly.
http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden05/hidden05_080222a.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden05/hidden05_080222a-l.jpg) http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden05/hidden05_080222b.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden05/hidden05_080222b-l.jpg) http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden05/hidden05_080222c.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden05/hidden05_080222c-l.jpg) http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden05/hidden05_080222d.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden05/hidden05_080222d-l.jpg)

Captain Falcon's Special Moves Standard Special Move Falcon Punch Side Special Move Raptor Boost Up Special Move Falcon Dive Down Special Move Falcon Kick Final Smash Blue Falcon
Tips
Captain Falcon is all about legs. He used to be the fastest runner in the entire game... Way back when, that is.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden05/hidden05_080222e.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden05/hidden05_080222e-l.jpg)

But there’s no outrunning this guy...

Standard Special Move: Falcon Punch
This is the Falcon Punch, a move virtually synonymous with Captain Falcon!

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden05/hidden05_080222f.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden05/hidden05_080222f-l.jpg)

It looks like Snake’s a big fan as well.
This move really works wonders for you in chaotic group matches. Try throwing one out in the fray and your wild punch may just connect with a few opponents.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden05/hidden05_080222g.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden05/hidden05_080222g-l.jpg)

If you tilt the Control Stick in the opposite direction that Captain Falcon’s facing while he’s winding up...

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden05/hidden05_080222h.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden05/hidden05_080222h-l.jpg)

He pulls a 180...

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden05/hidden05_080222i.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden05/hidden05_080222i-l.jpg)

FALCON PUNCH!!
And there you have it, a reverse Falcon Punch. This move packs juuust a touch more power than the standard version.

Down Special Move: Falcon Kick

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden05/hidden05_080222j.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden05/hidden05_080222j-l.jpg)

Perform this move while on solid ground to shoot forwards straight as an arrow.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden05/hidden05_080222k.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden05/hidden05_080222k-l.jpg)

In the air, the move changes to a kick that shoots him downwards at a sharp angle.
This move works best as a surprise attack. Make sure you deploy it in a fashion that keeps your opponent from reading when it’s coming.

Final Smash: Blue Falcon
For his Final Smash, Captain Falcon calls in the Blue Falcon! Connect with the Final Smash to pull opponents onto an unknown F-Zero race course.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden05/hidden05_080222l.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden05/hidden05_080222l-l.jpg)

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamemode/various/images/various28/various28_080225b.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamemode/various/images/various28/various28_080225b-l.jpg)

Beams shoot out from four of his fingers!

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamemode/various/images/various28/various28_080225c.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamemode/various/images/various28/various28_080225c-l.jpg)

First he grabs you...then comes the crushing.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamemode/various/images/various28/various28_080225d.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamemode/various/images/various28/various28_080225d-l.jpg)

He charges in from the back! Quick, dodge!
And there’s another one to introduce – the "manifestation of destructive spirit", Crazy Hand!
http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/images/spacer.gif http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamemode/various/images/various28/various28_080225awk2.jpg http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/images/spacer.gif

Here’s where the right hand and the left hand come together.
They appear when:

You arrive at the final stage and the difficulty level is set to Hard or above.
You arrive at the final stage in 9 minutes or less.
http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamemode/various/images/various28/various28_080225f.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamemode/various/images/various28/various28_080225f-l.jpg)

The way he walks is a bit...unusual.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamemode/various/images/various28/various28_080225g.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamemode/various/images/various28/various28_080225g-l.jpg)

He drops bombs. Master Hand can’t use this move.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamemode/various/images/various28/various28_080225h.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamemode/various/images/various28/various28_080225h-l.jpg)

He also writhes and thrashes around.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamemode/various/images/various28/various28_080225i.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamemode/various/images/various28/various28_080225i-l.jpg)

Crazy Hand can also get together with Master Hand and perform combo attacks!
Watch the patterns and learn to dodge their attacks. If you’re patient enough, you can win!
Both Master Hand and Crazy Hand are symbols of this world, but their very existence is still quite mysterious.
Oh, and by the way, Master Hand also appears in The Subspace Emissary.

Lucario
http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden06/hidden06.jpg

It’s the Aura Pokémon, Lucario. Lucario is a Pokémon, but for some reason, there’s something lonesome about it.

Lucario’s inner power, called Aura, increases its power in proportion to the danger Lucario is in. Keep the fight lively with Lucario’s high-risk, high-reward fighting style!

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden06/hidden06_080228a.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden06/hidden06_080228a-l.jpg)http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden06/hidden06_080228b.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden06/hidden06_080228b-l.jpg)http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden06/hidden06_080228c.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden06/hidden06_080228c-l.jpg)http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden06/hidden06_080228d.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden06/hidden06_080228d-l.jpg)

Side Special Move

Up Special Move

Down Special Move

Final Smash
Aura Storm

Tips
Lucario uses a graceful, self-developed style of martial arts. Take care when fighting Lucario, because its reach extends farther than the length of its limbs.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden06/hidden06_080228e.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden06/hidden06_080228e-l.jpg)

Even from a distance like this...

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden06/hidden06_080228f.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden06/hidden06_080228f-l.jpg)

...Lucario’s hits connect!

If you’re going to name one distinctive feature about Lucario, you’ve simply got to mention the Aura abilities.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden06/hidden06_080228g.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden06/hidden06_080228g-l.jpg)

Here you can see Lucario’s Aura emanating from its hand.
In Smash Bros., Aura strengthens Lucario’s attacks according to how much damage Lucario has taken. The higher your damage percentage, the stronger your hits will be.

Lucario at high damage is a force to be feared.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden06/hidden06_080228h.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden06/hidden06_080228h-l.jpg)

Lucario’s Aura-based attacks have an ethereal field surrounding them.

Standard Special Move: Aura Sphere

The size of Lucario’s Aura Sphere serves as a rough indicator of the current strength of Lucario’s Aura.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden06/hidden06_080228i.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden06/hidden06_080228i-l.jpg)

Even the size of a fully-charged Aura Sphere...

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden06/hidden06_080228j.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden06/hidden06_080228j-l.jpg)

...changes dramatically!

The damage and speed of the projectile also increase, of course.

Side Special Move: Force Palm

This useful move hits enemies with an Aura attack when used from a distance, and changes to a close-range attack when performed near an enemy.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden06/hidden06_080228k.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden06/hidden06_080228k-l.jpg)

Here’s Force Palm at a distance.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden06/hidden06_080228l.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden06/hidden06_080228l-l.jpg)

And again, performed in close-quarters combat.

Down Special Move: Double Team

Time Double Team so that an enemy attack connects with you, and Lucario will launch into a counterattack.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden06/hidden06_080228m.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden06/hidden06_080228m-l.jpg)

Hmph!

Now, if an attack makes contact with Lucario while this is going on...

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden06/hidden06_080228n.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden06/hidden06_080228n-l.jpg)

...Lucario splits into two!

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden06/hidden06_080228o.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden06/hidden06_080228o-l.jpg)

And launches a surprise attack to counter!

This attack also receives a boost in strength proportionate to your damage percentage courtesy of Lucario’s Aura ability.
Let me tell you, when you flash the opponent one of those "I’m wide open" poses and then counter their strike, if feels ridiculously good.

Final Smash: Aura Storm

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden06/hidden06_080228p.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden06/hidden06_080228p-l.jpg)

Behold the true power of Aura!

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden06/hidden06_080228q.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden06/hidden06_080228q-l.jpg)

Hyaaaa!

For Aura Storm, Lucario jumps high into the air and releases a ferocious Aura beam.

To really use this move effectively, you’ve got to direct the heading of the beam by pressing left and right on the Control Stick. Try tilting the Control Stick in the direction of the enemy you want to blast before Lucario releases the beam.
As a side note, there are moments in the game where Lucario appears to be speaking, but it’s not actual speech – it’s a sort of telepathy it uses.

Spear Pillar is the area where Dialga or Palkia could once be found.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/images/common/chara_hidden_btn.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/stage29s.html?keepThis=true&TB_iframe=true&height=250&width=450)

The stage is composed of two areas; a sort of holy ground above and a cave-like structure below.
Naturally you can expect appearances from none other than Dialga and Palkia!!

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage29/stage29_080229b.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage29/stage29_080229b-l.jpg)

Dialga, a Temporal Pokémon, appears!

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage29/stage29_080229c.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage29/stage29_080229c-l.jpg)

Here’s Palkia, a Spatial Pokémon!
When you enter the stage, you may notice a slight bluish or purplish tint to the scenery. This colouring, which indicates the Diamond or Pearl versions of the stage, is decided at random each time you play.
The former colour indicates Dialga will appear, while the latter colour scheme heralds the arrival of Palkia.
Each of these Pokémon cause different effects to occur on the stage.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage29/stage29_080229d.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage29/stage29_080229d-l.jpg)

The floor is crumbling away!

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage29/stage29_080229e.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage29/stage29_080229e-l.jpg)

A laser beam crashes down from the sky!

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage29/stage29_080229f.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage29/stage29_080229f-l.jpg)

The beam rips right through the cave!

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage29/stage29_080229g.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage29/stage29_080229g-l.jpg)

The whole stage just tilted sideways!! It’s just an illusion – don’t be fooled!

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage29/stage29_080229h.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage29/stage29_080229h-l.jpg)

Everything’s been flipped upside-down!! But it’s all an illusion! An illusion, I tell you!!

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage29/stage29_080229i.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage29/stage29_080229i-l.jpg)

Now the whole fight’s in slow motion. Perhaps someone’s manipulating time?
Hmm, those are some supernatural effects. One should expect nothing less from these Legendary Pokémon.
You can also expect guest appearances by Uxie, Mesprit and Azelf.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage29/stage29_080229j.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage29/stage29_080229j-l.jpg)

A casual guest appearance.
Additionally, aside from Dialga and Palkia you might occasionally see another Pokémon pop up.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage29/stage29_080229k.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage29/stage29_080229k-l.jpg)

Could that be...Cresselia?!

Secrets for Continuing

When you reach the game-over screen in modes like Classic and Adventure, you’ll have the opportunity to continue your game.
However, there are some things you should know about continuing...

<When You Continue in Classic Mode>

http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/gamemode/various/images/various29/various29_080303a.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/gamemode/various/images/various29/various29_080303a-l.jpg)

A certain hidden game mode shares this type of continue screen...

Your score gets cut in half
Your score gains a single point (to keep track of the number of times you continued)
You forfeit a number of coins
Easy... 10 Coins Normal... 20 Coins Hard... 30 Coins Very Hard... 50 Coins Intense... 100 CoinsThe coins I’m referring to here are exactly the same as the ones you use in Spectator mode.
For those times when you’ve decided you simply have to beat the game on the Intense setting, I’d recommend backing up your conviction with a healthy supply of coins...particularly when tackling stages in the latter half of Classic mode.
You also have to take into account your luck with items.
One key to conquering this mode is being persistent and making liberal use of that continue function.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/gamemode/various/images/various29/various29_080303b.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/gamemode/various/images/various29/various29_080303b-l.jpg)

Unfortunately, you can’t continue when you run out of coins.

<When You Continue in Adventure Mode>
In Adventure Mode: The Subspace Emissary, continuing won’t cost you any coins, but that isn’t to say it’s free.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/gamemode/various/images/various29/various29_080303c.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/gamemode/various/images/various29/various29_080303c-l.jpg)

Will you continue, or will you call it quits for the moment?
If you choose to "Get Up" and continue the fight, the following things will happen.
You lose one half of the Stickers and Trophies you’ve just collected (items obtained from orange boxes and CDs are guaranteed to stay in your collection)
You resume play from the beginning of the step (the unit of area from one door to another) at which you died
The amount of coins you get for beating the stage slightly decreasesIf you choose to instead go "Back to Map," you won’t start the stage over from the last door, but otherwise the effects are similar—except the number of coins you collect will be greatly reduced.
So you might as well get back on the horse, beat the stage, and get it out of your system. Especially seeing as how the game can mercilessly strip several of the precious items and enemies-turned-trophies you picked up your first time through.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/gamemode/various/images/various29/various29_080303d.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/gamemode/various/images/various29/various29_080303d-l.jpg)

LEEEEAP to your feet and retry!
On the other hand, if you do choose to return to the map, you can save and reselect the difficulty level the next time you choose to enter the stage that defeated you, so it’s not like there are no merits to be had in choosing to back out for a while.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/gamemode/various/images/various29/various29_080303e.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/gamemode/various/images/various29/various29_080303e-l.jpg)

Higher difficulty settings yield more coins.

What about all the other good games?

I'm starting to dislike SSBB. It's putting all the other wii games out as crap as every board I go on it's like "oh yeah SSBB is going to be the only game I play then my wii is going back in the cupboard" or "yeah I'm not buying any games because SSBB is coming out soon"

There are a few good games being released, even Mario Kart is being put out of the scene by everybody ********* over Brawl.

R.O.B.
http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden07/hidden07.jpg
R.O.B., the Robotic Operating Buddy from the NES, makes a grand entrance into the maelstrom!

His stately form has received a lot of attention, but it’s his air of gentle playfulness that really charms us.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden07/hidden07_080306a.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden07/hidden07_080306a-l.jpg)http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden07/hidden07_080306b.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden07/hidden07_080306b-l.jpg)http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden07/hidden07_080306c.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden07/hidden07_080306c-l.jpg)http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden07/hidden07_080306d.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden07/hidden07_080306d-l.jpg)

R.O.B.'s Special Moves
Standard Special Move ------ Robo Beam
Side Special Move ----------Arm Rotor
Up Special Move ------------Robo Burner
Down Special Move ----------Gyro
Final Smash -----------------Diffusion Beam

Tips

Standard Special Move: Robo Beam

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden07/hidden07_080306e.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden07/hidden07_080306e-l.jpg)

A straight, fast, piercing beam!

This ultra-fast shooting move is one of R.O.B.’s key weapons.
It has a couple of interesting characteristics.

1. You can change the angle of the shot.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden07/hidden07_080306f.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden07/hidden07_080306f-l.jpg)

If the shot hits the ground, it can ricochet.

2. You can’t fire again immediately after you use it.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden07/hidden07_080306g.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden07/hidden07_080306g-l.jpg)

Fzzzzh. There’s just not enough energy.

3. If you don’t use it for a bit, it will become a Super Robo Beam.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden07/hidden07_080306h.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden07/hidden07_080306h-l.jpg)

This time he’s at full power.

He stores his energy in the diode on his head, so you can tell when he’s charged up by looking at the light there. Cooooool...

Side Special Move: Arm Rotor

Push the button repeatedly to increase the power of the spin and continue attacking. You can even deflect projectiles.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden07/hidden07_080306i.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden07/hidden07_080306i-l.jpg)

Ba-ching! This move is bound to come in handy...

Up Special Move: Robo Burner

This move allows R.O.B. to hover by using his booster jets.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden07/hidden07_080306j.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden07/hidden07_080306j-l.jpg)

His stand can now be used for flight!

Keep tilting the Control Stick up to continue using the Robo Burners. There’s a fixed amount of fuel though, and when it’s gone you won’t be able to fly. By using the Control Stick to control when the jets are on and off, you’ll be able to earn more mileage.

When you land, your fuel gets replenished. You’ll have a full tank again in a little less than 1.5 seconds.

However, when your fuel level is low and you’re landing or refuelling, it's the perfect time for others to attack you, so watch out!

If you’re launched into the air repeatedly, you might not have a chance to refuel and you won’t be able to recover.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden07/hidden07_080306k.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden07/hidden07_080306k-l.jpg)

Enemies might attack when you land.

Down Special Move: Gyro

An item you can charge up and throw? There aren’t too many of those.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden07/hidden07_080306l.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden07/hidden07_080306l-l.jpg)

More spin, more spin...

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden07/hidden07_080306m.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden07/hidden07_080306m-l.jpg)

...and throw!

Once it’s been charged up, the gyros are pretty powerful, but since they’re items, opponents can pick them up and use them too. There can only be one on the screen at a time, so pick your moment and throw!

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden07/hidden07_080306n.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden07/hidden07_080306n-l.jpg)

They’re also effective in Multi-Man Brawl. Use it with the Robo Beam for combos!

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden08/hidden08.jpg
The Game & Watch series was made up of LCD games that began being sold in 1980 and proceeded to dominate handheld electronic games.

Now, an iconic character from the LCD era is here! He’s the master of the 2D world, and he has come to fight!!

Mr. Game & Watch's Special Moves
Standard Special Move -- Chef
Side Special Move -- Judge
Up Special Move -- Fire
Down Special Move -- Oil Panic
Final Smash -- Octopus

Tips

Side Special Move: Judge

This is number 9, right? Yeah, 9.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden08/hidden08_080310e.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden08/hidden08_080310e-l.jpg)

9!!!

When you use this special move, a random number will appear over Mr. Game & Watch’s head. The attack that happens depends on the number...

Attack strength 2%. An attack that won’t even cause your opponent to flinch.

Attack strength 4%. A weak attack without any special characteristics.

Attack strength 6%. An attack with a beam sound that pierces defences.

Attack strength 8%. A slashing attack that launches opponents diagonally.

Attack strength 4%x3. Three electrical charges zap the opponent.

Attack strength 12%. A flame attack. Watch out if you’re near an explosive crate.

Attack strength 14%. A food item will also appear in honour of the lucky #7.

Attack strength 9%. An attack that freezes foes. Take advantage of the opening to attack again.

Attack strength 32%. A massive attack. The opponent will be launched as if hit with the Home-run Bat!

If you’re getting into trouble, try to use this attack a lot and hope for a 9. Let fortune decide your fate, and go!!

Down Special Move: Oil Panic

This special move will absorb three projectiles, then make a wide oil attack that splashes about. The attack strength equals that of the three projectiles combined, multiplied by 2.8.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden08/hidden08_080310f.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden08/hidden08_080310f-l.jpg)

Fill up your bucket!

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden08/hidden08_080310g.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden08/hidden08_080310g-l.jpg)

Press down and the special-attack button once more to cover your enemies!

This move will absorb projectile attacks with strengths up to 20%, but the attack itself will still be strong even if you absorb only normal projectiles.

In team battles, if you have Team Attack set to on, you'll be able to absorb your team members’ projectile attacks. This can prove to be a cunning combination.

But maybe there should be a rule that both teams have a Mr. Game & Watch on their side so that they can both take advantage of this strategy.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden08/hidden08_080310h.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden08/hidden08_080310h-l.jpg)

This is how the tactic works!

Final Smash: Octopus

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden08/hidden08_080310i.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden08/hidden08_080310i-l.jpg)

It’s too much!!

The Octopus is a transformational special move, but don’t forget you still have to control it with the buttons.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden08/hidden08_080310j.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden08/hidden08_080310j-l.jpg)

If you don’t push the buttons, the tentacles don’t move.

Of course, the body still has attack strength.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden08/hidden08_080310k.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden08/hidden08_080310k-l.jpg)

When you push the buttons, the tentacles extend and whip out.

When the tentacles are extending, the attack strength is located in the tips. The body will therefore lose its attack strength. You should be warned, though, that even if a tentacle is not extended, its tip will still hit.

The octopus actually can’t change the direction it faces. The tentacles to its rear have less strength in them, but will anyone be able to escape even knowing that?

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden08/hidden08_080310l.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/characters/images/hidden08/hidden08_080310l-l.jpg)

Wow, too cool.

Flat Zone 2
This stage is 2D, and for some reason everyone becomes two-dimensional when they fight here. It makes sense – this IS a Game & Watch.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/images/common/chara_hidden_btn.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/stage31s.html?keepThis=true&TB_iframe=true&height=270&width=450)
So what is Game & Watch, exactly? Well, the Game & Watch series was made up of handheld electronic games that Nintendo began releasing in 1980. Over 12 million were sold in Japan alone, creating a huge boom. New games in the series continued to be released even after the Super NES was launched in 1991.
And this is the odd stage we built based on the old Game & Watch designs.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage31/stage31_080311a.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage31/stage31_080311a-l.jpg)
If you look closely, you can see that the characters have become 2D.
Basically, this part is modelled after the Game & Watch "Fire" game. If you land on the rescue team’s blanket you can make big jumps as if it were a trampoline.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage31/stage31_080311b.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage31/stage31_080311b-l.jpg)
Boing! Ahhh... Is bouncing a good thing? Or just inconvenient?
Over time, the stage will change. Amidst the plethora of Game & Watch games, what could appear?

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage31/stage31_080311c.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage31/stage31_080311c-l.jpg)
"Oil Panic" perhaps?
http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage31/stage31_080311d.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage31/stage31_080311d-l.jpg)
Or "Lion". The lion tamers are to the left and right.
http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage31/stage31_080311e.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage31/stage31_080311e-l.jpg)
Even "Chef"! The chef can launch characters.
There’s all sorts of stuff in here that leaves the youngsters behind. This game really has no scruples at all, does it? Sorry!

Hidden Masterpieces
Even the Masterpieces (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamemode/various/various23.html) have elements that you can unlock. The types and ways to unlock them are listed below.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamemode/various/images/various30/various30_080312a.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamemode/various/images/various30/various30_080312a-l.jpg)
Donkey Kong (1986, NES)

It starts from stage 2. Try comparing it to the Smash Bros. stage 75m.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamemode/various/images/various30/various30_080312b.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamemode/various/images/various30/various30_080312b-l.jpg)
Super Mario Bros. 2 (1988, NES)
http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/images/common/chara_hidden_btn.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamemode/various/various30s2.html?keepThis=true&TB_iframe=true&height=270&width=450)
Peach’s levitation and vegetable-pulling abilities come from this game. Therefore, it starts with Peach.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamemode/various/images/various30/various30_080312c.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamemode/various/images/various30/various30_080312c-l.jpg)
Super Mario World (1991, Super NES)
http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/images/common/chara_hidden_btn.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamemode/various/various30s3.html?keepThis=true&TB_iframe=true&height=270&width=450)
This is the source of the Melee stage: Yoshi’s Island. This game was bundled with the Super NES outside of Japan, and is quite a well-known title.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamemode/various/images/various30/various30_080312d.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamemode/various/images/various30/various30_080312d-l.jpg)
F-Zero (1991, Super NES)
http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/images/common/chara_hidden_btn.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamemode/various/various30s4.html?keepThis=true&TB_iframe=true&height=280&width=450)
F-Zero – the first of the series, so to speak. The Falcon Flyer only appeared in the comics in the instruction manual, though.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamemode/various/images/various30/various30_080312e.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamemode/various/images/various30/various30_080312e-l.jpg)
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (1998, Nintendo 64)
http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/images/common/chara_hidden_btn.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamemode/various/various30s5.html?keepThis=true&TB_iframe=true&height=290&width=450)
If you’re using the included save data, you’ll suddenly be able to play with the adult Link. When outside, you can call Link’s trusty steed Epona by drawing the ocarina and performing the following pattern: ↑←→↑←→

These are all, of course, only trial versions. If you like one of them and feel like you want to play quite a lot, then buying it would probably be the way to go.

Secret Melee Stages
Even among the Melee stages, there are a few hidden ones. Here I’d like to do a quick rundown of four such venues.

Jungle Japes

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage32/stage32_080313a.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage32/stage32_080313a-l.jpg)
Here’s Cranky Kong’s shack and outhouse.
http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage32/stage32_080313b.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage32/stage32_080313b-l.jpg)
A fierce current surges beneath the platforms!
http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/images/common/chara_hidden_btn.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/stage32s1.html?keepThis=true&TB_iframe=true&height=250&width=450)

Green Greens

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage32/stage32_080313c.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage32/stage32_080313c-l.jpg)
This stage just hangs in space, like a floating island.
http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage32/stage32_080313d.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage32/stage32_080313d-l.jpg)
Whispy Woods and the trademark stacking blocks made it here intact.
http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/images/common/chara_hidden_btn.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/stage32s2.html?keepThis=true&TB_iframe=true&height=250&width=450)

Pokémon Stadium

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage32/stage32_080313e.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage32/stage32_080313e-l.jpg)
Pokémon Stadium 2 is available in Brawl but we’ve brought back the original as well.
Just like the newer iteration of this stage, Melee Pokémon Stadium’s terrain transforms into four different types.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage32/stage32_080313f.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage32/stage32_080313f-l.jpg)
Fire Type: It calls to mind the charred aftermath of a volcanic eruption.
http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage32/stage32_080313g.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage32/stage32_080313g-l.jpg)
Water Type: The real star of this terrain is probably the waterwheel.
http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage32/stage32_080313h.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage32/stage32_080313h-l.jpg)
Rock Type: The towering mass of rock on the left side of the screen is this terrain’s distinguishing feature.
http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage32/stage32_080313i.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage32/stage32_080313i-l.jpg)
Lastly, here’s the Grass Type. This one’s comparatively simple in its structure.
http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/images/common/chara_hidden_btn.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/stage32s3.html?keepThis=true&TB_iframe=true&height=250&width=450)
Add the above four types to the additional four available in the Pokémon Stadium 2 stage and you’ve got a total of 8 different elemental terrain types to fight in.

Big Blue

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage32/stage32_080313j.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage32/stage32_080313j-l.jpg)
This unique stage has a real sense of breakneck speed to it.
http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage32/stage32_080313k.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/images/stage32/stage32_080313k-l.jpg)
Get the jump on the opponent from one of the F-Zero machines cruising by.
http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/images/common/chara_hidden_btn.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stages/stage32s4.html?keepThis=true&TB_iframe=true&height=250&width=450)

The Melee stages available in Brawl are arranged so that you get one from each game world.
You can use the My Music feature on Melee stages, too.
In the previous Smash Bros., the background music for each stage had the same name as the stage regardless of the song’s source, so you may find yourself feeling a bit like "Huh?" when viewing just the song titles. (EarthBound-related music is the exception to this rule.)
Additionally, the My Music feature for these Melee stages allows you to include some secret songs and music from other stages from that game world in your mixes! Collect all the songs and try it out for yourself.

I had to multiple post so i could post these 4 updates

Latecomer Assist Trophies
Some of the Assist Trophies don’t appear until you’ve satisfied a certain set of conditions.

Custom Robo
http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist16/assist16_080314awk01.jpg
http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/images/common/chara_hidden_btn.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/assist16s1.html?keepThis=true&TB_iframe=true&height=270&width=450)
This is the Ray Mk III. It’s the same type that appeared in the Nintendo DS title Custom Robo Arena.
When summoned, the Ray Mk III whizzes around in the air, alternately firing off a shower of bullets from the gun on its left hand and peppering the stage with bombs from its right.
Since it’s a toy, the design for Ray Mk III is small and lightweight.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist16/assist16_080314a.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist16/assist16_080314a-l.jpg)
Yup, it’s tiny...

Isaac
http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist16/assist16_080314awk02.jpg
http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/images/common/chara_hidden_btn.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/assist16s2.html?keepThis=true&TB_iframe=true&height=270&width=450)
Isaac is an adept from the Golden Sun series who commands earth-based Psynergy. He carries a sword on his back but you won’t see him use it here.
Isaac has the ability Move, which has the ability to move objects. This time, that ability has been represented as a massive hand that pushes away anything in its path.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist16/assist16_080314b.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist16/assist16_080314b-l.jpg)
This is Move! Depending on the situation, its effect can be devastating.

Infantry and Tanks
http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist16/assist16_080314awk03.jpg
http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/images/common/chara_hidden_btn.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/assist16s3.html?keepThis=true&TB_iframe=true&height=270&width=450)
These famous units from the Advance Wars series have been represented in Smash Bros. as pixel art. Looking at the number of colours used, I’d say these are the units as they appeared in the Game Boy Advance version, perhaps?
Both types of unit spill out onto the battlefield firing tiny projectiles as they wheel about. They may be adorable, but you mustn’t underestimate them.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist16/assist16_080314c.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist16/assist16_080314c-l.jpg)
Three Assist Trophies are represented as pixel art.

Barbara
http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist16/assist16_080314awk04.jpg
http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/images/common/chara_hidden_btn.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/assist16s4.html?keepThis=true&TB_iframe=true&height=270&width=450)
Barbara comes to Smash from the game Daigassou! Band Brothers and Magic Made Fun: Perform Tricks That Will Amaze Your Friends. She’s also made appearances secretly in games like English Training.
When Barbara appears, she starts to wail on her electric guitar, attacking opponents in the area with sonic waves. The attack can cause multiple hits, so run when you see it coming!

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist16/assist16_080314d.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist16/assist16_080314d-l.jpg)
Barbara’s final strum of the guitar has the most potential to blow you away, so make sure you clear out before it hits!

Shadow The Hedgehog
http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist16/assist16_080314awk05.jpg
http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/images/common/chara_hidden_btn.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/assist16s5.html?keepThis=true&TB_iframe=true&height=270&width=450)
Shadow The Hedgehog joins the brawl alongside Sonic! Shadow is known as a sort of rival for Sonic.
When summoned, Shadow uses his Chaos Control to slow the speed of those nearby him. Naturally the Chaos Control has no effect on the character who summoned Shadow.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist16/assist16_080314e.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/images/assist16/assist16_080314e-l.jpg)
I guess obscuring the players’ field of vision is another one of the effects of this move?

In addition to the Assist Trophies mentioned above, Gray Fox (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/assist11.html) also requires certain conditions to be fulfilled in order to unlock him.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/images/common/chara_hidden_btn.jpg (http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items/assist/assist16s6.html?keepThis=true&TB_iframe=true&height=270&width=450)
I suppose it only makes sense that Assist Trophies associated with guest characters appear concurrently with those guest characters, don’t you think?

Yeah same as what i said in last message

I hope so, I ordered my freeloader + US Brawl on Monday morning so let's hope it's worth the £50 I spent on it :)
