View Full Version : [THE BIG WEEKLY QUESTION] Wha-What Don't Kill Me, Only Make Me Stronger /Announcement
The Mega Yearly Debate is shaping up well, for a quick form simply Private Message me, I've already messaged a few, but due to personal issues I cannot message you all. The Mega Yearly Debate is on in late October (around the 31st)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
With only a week to go to the 360 release of Stranglehold, and my Birthday, I'd like to get the Weekly Question on a different subject than Video Game Bans, 'Did You Like This', 'Will This Be Good' and all 'new' news. This time we're been a bit different...
*opens gold envelope*
Has difficulity in Video Games increased over the past 5 years?
I think with new technologies, come new challenges, and now we're at the stage of the 7th generation console wars, developers have to use every single ounce of power from the consoles, so yeah, game difficulity has increased of the past 5 years.
Another announcement - I won't be here next week, so Mangle will host it again.

yay me tbh
And i still find some games on ps2 harder than xbox 360 ones LOL
It depends on the type of game and how good you are as a gamer.

Games are certainly longer but I wouldn't say harder.
No, games are so easy to complete now. I remember back in the N64 days I would frequently be challenged by games, Mario 64 [Bowser was solid], Banjo kazooie [Grunty was solid], Banjo tooie [Grunty in the H.A.G. was solid XD] etc Now you play a game and its easy and thats it, job done. But in old games you would play them and them, they were hard and after completing them there were other things to do. EG Collect all of the coins to unlock charecters etc. In my opinion the reason it has come out like this is the rise in Multiplayer. It used to be single player was the main feature and multiplayer kind of an add on to extend the game length, now games are mostly focused around multiplayer. Take Halo 2 for an example, the campaign took me 3 days you compare that to say Goldeneye on the N64 which takes AGES and after your done you have to complete it on 00 Agent to unlock other levels.

It all depends on the game genre tbh. Many shooters are as challenging as they were back in the day of Medal of Honour for PS1. But I think adventure games may be a bit easier due to advances in technology and new features, eg. maps, weapon selections.
I don't think so, games are longer but certainly not harder, now you can complete a game in 1 or 2 days easily, sometimes more, but back when it was all Super Mario Bros. Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, then it was almost impossible to complete that fast the first time you played it
Now the game is longer in the sense that there was alot more you could do but it didn't effect how fast completing the game took

I think it depends on what kind of games people are good at i don't think they've got any harder. I think the new pokemon games on the ds is easier than the old ones on the gameboy.
Oh and yes it does seem Mangle will have to host the next one..

But just think, when you played these games, you must of been alot younger then you are now. If you tryed playing them now you may find them alot easier.
