I'm not sure if you've ever realised this, but do you never see Indians in the Olympics?
Some people I've discussed it with say it's because they're such a poor country, however look at Ethiopia! They take top places in all the running events..
What do you think?

Probably 'cause the main sport played in India is probably Cricket. But, I'm sure they do have athletes that take part in the Olympics in several different sports.

Some countries are more Olympic-literate than others, whereas the American's [generally] are better eaters than British citizens.

Yer india always win the hockey.

Looked at wikiopedia and they have 8 olympic golds at it

India do take part in the Olympics? They are great at shooting and hockey. Oh and not so bad at badminton.

Oh and I think one of the future Olympics is in India. or is it the common wealth games which will be in India :s
One of them anyway.

I'm talking about the more... athletic sports. When you sit down in front of the tele of a night time when the Olympics are underway, and you're watching the events, you very very rarely ever come across an Indian contestant.

You mainly come across British ones as BBC mainly shows the British contestants.

If you watched it in India I'm sure you would see very little British contestants and more Indian contestants. :rolleyes:

yes, but also the amercians are [Genrally] the fastest sprinters in the world.

yup, they win most medals every time, and a question i would like to add is why are most sprinters black - i'm not being racist but is there some genetic reason

Could be because black people generally have more muscular strength and a bigger aanerobic capacity than white people.. or it could just be a coincidence.

Aha. An event is an event, despite where you're watching it. It has a variety of nationalities. When I watch the Olympics (I live in Australia), I don't see anymore Australians than I do any other nationality. :eusa_eh:
