Im having my braces fitted tommrow currently got bands in they really ake, Just wondering do braces hurt ake/ Any tips for when i have them fitted

I havnt personally had them but they only hurt when they rub your gums iv heard.

ive had them, they're not a big thing, seriously.

you'll get used to them in a few days.

I have braces, they hurt for the first few week but then they're fine, but when you get them tightened they really hurt for around 48 hour.
When I had mine fitted, the put a plastic thing in my mouth to move my lips and tongue out the way, and there were points things that dug into the back of my gums, it really hurts.

Braces don't hurt as much as some people say, they only hurt for me when they cut my lip or when they were tightened.

When i got them i coudn't eat normally for like a week.
All my food had to be cut up and i did as minimal chewing as possible
I also had to drink from a straw LOL.


If your teeth are hurting but your REALLY hungry, i suggest: Tuc-Biscuits, as they kind of dissolve in your mouth, i lived off them for like 2 days =D

It will hurt the first couple of days, then it will be fine. After that it will only hurt once you get them tightened.

They only hurt when u first get them on, when they get tightened.
They dont hurt too much if u take pain killers :p

I had to go back when I had my braces because the wire on each side was massive and it kept digging into my mouth causing me to keep spitting blood lmao So I had to go back and get the sides cut.

Also, don't worry if the wire at the back suddenly becomes lose.

Because obviously your teeth are moving in-wards the ammount of wire yuo require shortens as the process goes along, so if theres excess wire at the back that you can feel, they will snip it off next appointment.



MY BRACES COME OFF IN 20 DAYS.

and like the inside of your cheeks
so i suggest you get the wax stuff
that really helps.
It does hurt when they first get put on
and they feel really weird
but trust me they are worth it !

I carnt eat anything and getting really tired, My teeths are so snesitive feel like they have been pulled out.

yeah they don't hurt just make your mouth well numb. i used to just put loads of pressure on mine when they ached and it like made them feel better for some reason lmao :P. when you get them tightened they ache for a bit as well.. oh and it can hurt when you chew stuff.

When they first get re-tightened they hurt like they did when they were put on, but only like for one day.

After like 4 trips when there re-tightened it aches for like 5 minutes.

i got them, they hurt for first few days and for a day every time you have em tightened, because they have to tighten up gradually instead of doing it all at once.

i just ate soft foods for first few days, like bananas, soup etc.

i got a few ulcers but they went after a week and its important to brush or teeth and gums at least twice a day because loads of food gets stuck in em and its annoying.

and when you sleep your mouth relaxes so sometimes my wire would be like buried in my bottom lip leaving a big sore cut lol

Wow, the bands were "really" aching? Then braces should ache majorly for you.

Only hurt/ache for 2 days really on your first tightening. Doesn't as long when you have them tightened as time goes on.

It wasn't that bad... Not for me anyway. They hurt when eating and drinking only for about 5 days or so for me.

It will hurt the first couple of days, then it will be fine. After that it will only hurt once you get them tightened.

I guessed you'd suffer. What I used to do was wrap my tongue round my top front two teeth, not like major wrap round but just so that you feel the front under your block, and I'd pull my teeth back slightly with my tongue which would ease off the pressure.

They can cut your gums

im getting braces next month 12th/10 ive been wanting them for years, i cart wait, i have 'hampster teeth' so people say, i dont really mind if it hurts im just glad in 3 years i will have nice teeth. Its all worth it.

Nope, Im 15 but my ortha dontisit did say i would get more pain than others becuase i have recently had to have teeth take out in preperation for braces and he said they will still be a bit lose...
