Embarresed to talk about this, Im 15 comming up 16 and am really short for my age the shortest in my year (Year 11) im 5ft something i will find out exactly tommorow, Ive been to the hospitaly because they thought i had Growing Hormone Disorder, But they said i will catch up with my friends soon enoth, But the only problem is i dont seem to be and constalty getting called names like "Midget" etc, And some times i carnt cope, Any tips +rep

True. My uncle was short all the way through his secondry school and now he's massive.

I am also very short. I'm 13 and 1m 54cm. Dunno what that is in feet but all my friends (who used to be shorter than me) are now treading on me. I too am starting to be called midget.

I have the exact same condition, ive learnt (through counselling) to just ignore their ignorant comments and let them be idiots to someone who cares, because i no longer do.

all tall ppl are trying to do is rub it in your face about your height i know this as i am tall and i did it till i relised the effects it was having on ppl now i only do it for a laugh with mates who have wise cracks at how tall i am :P

like ppl said ya only young ya dont stop growing till ya around 21 my docter said to me when i thought i was short and then i had a growth spert when i was 16

I'm quite tall, but the problem is is that I've stopped growing, mean while people who are shorter than me are still growing (exept for a friend of mine who is taller than me and still growing :rolleyes:), your body is still developing so don't take negative comments and such seriously because you could end up being taller than those who would skit you for your height.

Wow.. Someone else in my situation. Im not exactly tall myself, just over 5ft. But im a girl, and also in Year 11. People call me small, titch, mini. You just sort of get used to it im afraid.

It's not that being short, I think you should just take all the names on the chin. You'll easily grow way taller than them one day and you can just laugh in their faces! tbh I know a year 11 who is a short at a new born maybe, but he has a growth problem, really, don't worry, if they bully you report it!

being tall isn't exactly that great. i'm about 5"10 and i'm 14. but that's because i went through puberty faster. i've been 5"10 for the past 9 months, so i think i've stopped growing. seriously, right now, alot of students are shorter than me, but trust me, they will grow taller than me, it's just that they need more time.

same goes for you. you're just a late bloomer. don't worry too much about it, and don't listen to people who call you 'midget' and stuff like that. who knows, you might be taller than them one day.

and it's usually true that people who grow slower will be taller.

I had a guy in my year who was 6'7. He was real tall he's head was almost up to the cealing, he had to duck through a few doors too. No one messed with him of course ;) He was popular though too.

Average height for a woman is 5'8", so that means you've only got another 8incs to grow, and you won't stop growing till your 18-19, you have nothing to worry about.

I'm in year 11 and im 5"2.
It's hard being short, but that's life. I've had to deal with it all my life. I'm the youngest in my year though, August birthday. You'll grow, i'll grow but just abit later.
Think of it this way, others may grow and become men and stuff quicker than us, but they'll also become old and wrinkly quicker than us! ;)

Being tall isnt all its cracked up to be, when ur small u can hide better witch is an advantage if ur being chased or something. Plus when ur taller its harder to find shoes nd stuff if u have big feet ;p (I'm 6ft 1ish btw)

Me too, I was always the tallest out of my class through primary, and Yr.7 & 8 since then everyone else has grown and I havent =[ I think I may be destined to stay at 5"5. :P My boyfriend is 6"1...makes me feel tiny.

And dont worry I know someone who was my height in July (or at most an inch taller) and he grew like 'woosh' over the summer. He's 16 going on 17 and now I'd say he's hitting on 6ft at least.
