Whats the easiest way to quit. I've tried patches and had a reaction making my arm red and sore.
Tried tablets from the doctors...Champix? I think anyway.
Still not able to do it. Any suggestions?
I have a reason to quit. A very big one, but can't seem to manage it.
this (http://ezinearticles.com/?Easy-Way-To-Quit-Smoking:-Does-Such-A-Method-Exist?&id=244218) might help.

Try the nicotine gum.
When I quit ages ago I used to chew chewing gum all the time lol, but then i started back up.
If you have a very big reason to quit then surely you should be able to, and if its to do with health then that should be a big enough reason.
I planned to quit 1st October, only as it goes up to 18, and I am not 18 till 3rd November, but I know I wont. So i changed it to after New Year lol, to many parties coming up now to quit.

Just have one less everyday, and soon you won't be having any. Or, just do something to take your mind off it when you crave one.

Cut down gradually, instead of 20 a day, smoke 15 a day, then 10, then 5, then 0.
If you have a very valid reason, that should help motivate you :]

They are taking **** away from 16 year olds etc, so now they will just go to drugs.
**** will be like getting alchol now if your under age, so it will just push teenagers to go to drugs if they can't get either. Drugs are far easier to get these days so there wont be much there to stop them.

I agree, it's a very bad idea to do this.

Just had a argument with some idiot in Asda!
She wouldnt serve me **** as she said it has gone up to 18, and there a big sign behind her saying it goes up on 1st October! Yet she insisted i was wrong and that it went up around July, silly cow.
Stupid law's
try to cut down, and not just quit altogether. I hear that works.

Thats the best way to help you stop, a good reason, something to do it for it really motivates you and you can do anything.
Offtopic:
Imo it's a good thing, as I disagree with smoking completely due to what I was put through during my childhood. I believe that it should go up to 18, it will make my friends that smoke now stop, at least for a few months and by then they hopefully would have gone off it.
But there is also a draw back to this, as the rebellious among us will think that it is cool too break the law, and will start earlier.

I've never tried to quit, I don't see the point really, I'm not out of control as in 20 a day and such, I have one when i want to relax or when i have a drink.
I'd suggest the gum, Stopping alltogether works for most people though, My mum smoked for 20 years, Then unfortunatly her father (My grandad) died of lung cancer, That's a pretty good enough reason to stop straight away.

Definitely agree, and when they push alcohol age up to 21 (as they plan to do) the drug problem is just going to get even worse.

Exactly. I know lots of kids now who buy weed as they can't get booze (And these are 12 year olds etc). So if they are going to stop 18 year olds from drinking then people who are 17-21 will just start doing harder drugs.
I know if they rasied it to 21, i will be more inclined to go and do drugs. I stopped smoking weed, if they are going to take **** and booze off me then i wont be happy :@

if and when they lower the drinking age i doubt many people will obey it. most of the income on alcohol comes from students and so few bars, shops or pubs will be willing to lose their best customers. so itll probably end up overturned making the government look silly.

*Raise :P
And yeah it's a poorly thought out law. Like you said, young people bring in lots of money from alcohol, and like myself and Jack said before it'll just make drugs more of an issue. At the moment I drink more than I drug because it's cheaper and I can get hold of both, but if the drinking age goes up then it's obvious where I'm going.

You have to be mentally prepared to quit before you can quick. Patches & stuff like that work, but only if you are determined to quit.

Think of something you would like, e.g. a new phone.
"If I don't buy those cigarettes, that's five pounds towards my new phone" or something. Save up and then cash in on your reward.
Then start smoking again. Or save up for another reward.

Chew gum I find that works

I would not have started in the first place. You will need to learn to organise yourself better in future.
Kindest Regards
when you give in and get hold of some cigs then straight away dip the ends in that stuff which makes you stop biting your finger nails. that'll stop you to not put it in your mouth ;).

I stopped smokign over a year ago but just gave up all of a sudden. The only way I stopped was just not paying people to buy me any **** :P
Sometimes still I get an urge to smoke when I'm ina mood or something but I just get over the mood the easy way by having a sleep when I get home from school :P

Have you tried watching those adverts or reading about the effects smoking can have.
Also think about how you smoking effects your family and friends, and how everytime you light up your cutting minutes off your life FACT.
