Wohoo! I won 0rca's competition :D

Here is this week's PS Blog:

Heidster's return from the unknown..

Hey Habbos! http://www.habbo.co.uk/habbo-imaging/avatar/57501625068210672014735030144002c510deb68f8d0c05c6 3897cd652c4a1.gif

Phew what a few weeks! I moved house.. and let me tell you its just not so easy to click pick up and stick it in your hand... as for unpacking at the other end, let's just say i will be finding boxes for years to come I reckon!

So what else? well very busy with our lovely moderators, they are a top top team, and I am sure you have noticed in the past few days that when you send a CFH to them about things like bans and other issues that they would normally refer to the help Tool they are now able to help! Try it out.. a few things we will still ask you to use the Help Tool, but now our mods are better equipped and able to offer the equivalent of a Live Tech Chat Help .. three cheers for our hard working moderators!

You love em, you know you do. Hug a Mod today!

colmc's Fantastic Four..

Hello Habbos!

How good is it to have Heidster back again..before she undoubtedly get's caught up in stuff again and disappears. I'm going to have to think of a more effective solution to her tendency to disappear so frequently! *ponders*

Ok, so this week I'm going to (or at least try to) keep it snappy, so I'm bringing you my Fantastic Four (geddit...oh, ok, I won't give up the day job!)http://www.habbo.co.uk/habbo-imaging/avatar/8460120504255162701530503014400c8777d77a0cf2e52acb 3c2fc05af95d6.gif

1) Well, I guess I might as well kick off with the real Fantastic Four: The Rise of the Silver Surfer (http://www.habbo.co.uk/entertainment/fanfour). Apart from being an exciting film, they've teamed up with Habbo to bring you a raft of goodies from free Habbo home backgrounds to a very refreshed looking Space Station (http://www.habbo.co.uk/client?forwardId=2&roomId=space_cafe/0)! Don't forget the Space Station launch party which is coming up on Monday!

2) I'm really glad that the discussion group feature is so popular with Habbos! The site has been awash with chatter ranging from who has got the lastest furni to the existance of God and views on racism. It's fantastic to see people use the forums to throw out some fabulous topics that range from funny and slightly pointless to deep and thought provoking! Long may it continue I say! Of course, some bad stuff is posted there too - so remember to report any bad posts that you see so the Moderators can take appropriate action!

3) The Habbo Charts (http://www.habbo.co.uk/news/article305.html) continue unabated. Congratulations to this weeks number 1, by Tickle (http://www.habbo.co.uk/home/tickle)! Remember to keep mixing your Trax and you could be Top of the Habbo Pops next week!

4) I was scolded this week for not having a Blog competition lately. So here we go!

http://images.habbohotel.co.uk/c_images/Colm/DSC00158_small.jpg

This picture was taken in the Habbo offices recently - but can you tell me what this unusual looking creature is called? Send your entries to [email protected] and I'll select some winners next week. Some nice prizes will find their way to the lucky Habbos! Remember, I'm looking for the creatures proper name, not suggestions as to what he should be called!

So that's pretty much it from me for this week. Stay safe everyone!

0rca talks movies and poetry...

I haven’t done much at all this week.

My father-in-law came over on Tuesday and put a roof on my bunny hutch, so that none of us get wet. I got soaked the other morning putting some plastic over the hutch. It is about 2 metres tall and I am only about 1m70cm and I was reaching up, it had rained the night before, I pulled the plastic down, and there was a big puddle of water looming and it went all over me. I seriously looked as if someone had thrown a bucket of water over me. So in a strop a text my other half and told him if he didn’t get it sorted, I would let him know how it feels *grins*. Low and behold the next day I had a roof. The powers or persuasion!

It was Toadflax’s birthday at the weekend, we bought him a new cat climber which has about 5 levels on it, he absolutely loves it. He spent most of his birthday asleep. So myself and Mr 0rca watched High School Musical 2. I am a big fan of number one so had high hopes. It was good, but not as good the first one. I am not sure what it was, maybe the first one had the love story angle to it and had better songs, more catchier songs like “Stick to the Status Quo” and “Breaking Free” but with HSM2, I can’t actually think of any. Maybe I need to http://www.habbo.co.uk/habbo-imaging/avatar/5700260502881257101373505014400ce334ccf853c24ce0da 581726ecc574e.gif watch it again. I am a little bit of a saddo actually because I knew it was coming to the Disney Channel so I changed my Sky package to include the kids channels just so I could watch it rofl.

I usually have my movies delivered to me from an online rental company, but I couldn’t wait to see it. I am a bit of a movie freak, I see Habbo is having some cool stuff going on thanks to the Fantastic Four: The Rise of the Silver Surfer (http://www.habbo.co.uk/entertainment/fanfour). I can’t wait for that either, but I will probably have to as it won’t be on TV for a long time. It does look good though. I like Jessica Alba, my favourite film with her in is 'Honey' - but I like all the dancing films. Hmm...that reminds me, I think High School Musical 2 ripped off Dirty Dancing a little bit as there are a lot of similarities. It was good though; you should watch it and let me know if you think the same as me. Maybe I will start off a discussion about movies, and you can recommend some to me. Yes I will one sec… It’s made, discuss away! (http://www.habbo.co.uk/groups/895/id/discussions/1811/id)

So yes I was reading some fan site discussions this week, yes some staff do read them! (Or is it just me? Am I nosey? Hmm...I don’t know but anyway...) I like to read them because I like to know what you guys think. Anyway I was reading one particular forum, and I had to chuckle, there was a template on there for a ban appeal. It was a parent one and it made me laugh as people have been using it. There are a few grammatical errors in there and spelling mistakes so I knew it had to be advertised somewhere and low and behold I found it. You see, it is mainly me that gets to do the banned folder, so I see 90% of the emails that come in, and I have a mighty fine memory. So when I see ban appeals that look the same, I don’t give you the same amount of time as I would someone who wrote their appeal their selves. You see I am all for second chances and giving a fair go. I unban a lot of Habbos because I think a lot learn from their mistakes, but when I see an appeal that wasn’t even written by that Habbo, I do not think they have put any effort into being unbanned so I don’t think they have learned anything if they can’t say it in their own words. What makes things worse, is on this thread on the forum, people were saying "tell them you will commit suicide", "tell them you will slit your wrists". Really guys, do you really think that is something to lie or joke about? I don't, for definite. So the moral of the story is, be yourself, tell me what you have learned, tell me why you think you should be unbanned, DON’T pretend to be a parent, tell me in your OWN words!!!

Now onto my comp, I have some wicked entries, I have loved reading them, and I decided that although I have a winner, some of the others are deserving of being seen too..so I might try and get them published at a later date. The letters you found made up the word SCAMMED. The winning entry was created by dan1207 (http://www.habbo.co.uk/home/dan1207) Well done Dan, it was great and I loved it. All other entries were very good, but Dan’s was my favourite! I've asked for it to be included below

I think I will do another competition like that as I think you enjoyed it. I certainly did! That is all from me this week. Keep it secret, keep it safe!

0rca's winning poem - Scammed by dan1207

I was walking round Habbo, without a care.
I thought "Hey, this hotel, it's very fair!
"Until...
I was viewing all the guestrooms and saw one that looked cool.
It had flashy lights and deckchairs, and even a swimming pool.
The Habbo that owned it seemed very funny,
I looked around the room, and noticed all his money.
He came right up to me and offered me rights.
I said "Hey, sounds cool, I could control those flashy lights" http://www.habbo.co.uk/habbo-imaging/avatar/800431800125505280133000501440074fca1e274549289a24 ff8ede5a13472.gif
I worried a little, he could be a clone.
Then he piped up "They're only a throne"
I thought a while longer, it was only a bit of fun,
"Yes, Okay!" And the deal was done.
The trade box opened, on my screen
I dragged over my little throne, feeling very keen.
He ticked his box and I ticked mine,
My smile grew wider, I was feeling fine!
My eyes opened further, I noticed Hotel View.
How did I get there? I didn't have a clue.
Then it dawned on me, I had been kicked.
No rights. No throne. I had been tricked!
The nasty owner, whom I thought was the real deal,
was another of those scammers, whose job it is to steal.
The anger filled up inside me, I knew just what to do.
I clicked the bottom right, the question mark, it's blue.
I told the MOD a lot of information, as much as could be crammed.
Like his name, where, when and how I had been scammed.
It didn't take long, I waited for the reply.
"Yes!" I exclaimed, I'd reported that guy!
"Sorry this Habbo was Banned," It said on his home.
I smiled, but unfortunately I didn't receive my throne.
That next week, I won a Habbo competition.
Two thrones were mine, I had learnt my lesson;
Scammers never prosper, that is a fact.
Most of these "deals" are all a big act.
So never agree to something that's too good to be true.
I hope you have learnt your lesson as well. Goodbye, I'm off for a brew!
