Ebay is used by a lot of scammers and boring people, for example I have just been rooting about (Not buying anything just looking) and I happend to stumble accross a dino egg going for nearly £300! The dino egg wasnt even in a room (the pic), they gave no information or anything. Its obviously a scam!. I know I know habbo have warned us all, but it goes in one ear out the other. Wow a throne for £10? or is it really? Dont take the chance, you cant even sue them for it as its pixalated furni, and is owned by sulake. Its funny to have a look at the obvious scams on that site, but my heart goes to the people that fell for them and had lost hundreds of pounds. Plus buying them is actually illegal. Post your comments/views or even tell us you stories about ebay, have you ever felt tempted to swipe your parents visa? Dont even take the risk.

I've never had any problems with ebay...ever...But then I've never bought anything like habbo furni before.
But yeah, always check feedback, and never go with new ebay users.
£300 for a dino egg?
Yikes. Utter craziness

If you stumble across this, all you do is lose a load of money, and how are you ever going to get the furni from the site to your account? It's just plain mad in my opinion. Anyway, the scammers are complete idiots who think they can pull these things off.
Unfortunately, they do, and I feel sorry for the ones who lose a load of money.

Ebay is a large community of devoted and honest sellers and also non honest sellers, you need to make your own judgement of who you trust. Also, there is protection for people who dont receive their goods. I have been using ebay for years and actually with over 150 transactions I have yet to not receive anything that I paid for and possess 154 transactions with 100% positive remarks, I always investigate who Im dealing with before I decide to buy or sell to them. I myself have seen the rares sell on ebay which IS infact against the habbo way although when listed properly is not against the law. Information on any level can be sold for whatever price you choose and the rares are information stored on a server. I myself dont buy anything but dont see why its wrong if you choose to purchase rares instead of buy thousands of credits, if you do in fact decide to do this just make sure u pick someone with a good reputation and someone who appears legitimate.

You never know what you're getting into when you purchase Habbo furniture of eBay. All I can say is, you have to good judgement when deciding who to go with. Also, if you do decide to buy something off eBay, I highly recommend you don't buy someone's Habbo Hotel account. For one, it could easily be a scam, and you won't recieve the password, dob, e-mail etc. But second, the person could give you the account details, and then take back the account once you went on it.

From what I have noticed Global most users that do sell rares ie : Thrones and dino eggs, usually request that you make a donation room and then they drop the items into it once the payment has been received. When you look at it, logically its the same thing as buying a computer or something, they can choose not to deliver it but thats why you usually pick the people with good feedback. Either way, ebay in my opinion is an assest to the online buying community considering you can actually get good deals on stuff without the hassle of retail or salespeople. If i ever sold my thrones online which I wouldnt anyways, I would rather deliver the goods to the person rather than destroy my excellent rating :D, but thats just me anyhow ;)

I've read the habbo way, and it says you're not allowed to sell or trade the actual account, not the furni.
And the feedback DOES count, if the seller has sold other habbo items and recieved good feedback for them, then it's likely they're not scammers.
If I ever leave habbo, I would def sell my furni on habbo.
I believe that not all scam I have done a few sales in the past.

Funny thing is with the average price of a throne selling on ebay for around $35-45 american its not hard to see that its possible for good traders and casino owners to make a better than average part time income selling rares on ebay :D

There's no need to be quite so rude. If you had read the thread, you would have seen that a lot of people are backing up ebay.

Nixon, I dont know who you were attacking here but you are in fact the idiot. On ebay the buyer is required to make payment before receiving goods not vice versa. Speak of things you understand dont come here and call people idiots when u have no idea what your talking about. Yes u can retract a payment through paypal, this thread did not involve paypal so If a user makes a payment via another method there isnt much protection to getting your funds KID!

Friend of mine bought 10 thrones on ebay for $200 canadian, less than 9 gbp each, he got all of them, take precaution like you do with everything else in life and sometimes u get *****ed over and sometimes you dont. What goes around comes around, dishonest people are repayed by the karma in other ways.

I totally agree with that comment. I'm sorry to those who have bought from ebay but it amazes me. I just don't understand why people want to pay real money for pixels. Think about it PIXELS. You can't do anything with them really except perhaps brag about your 'wealth' on a virtual game, which i find pretty sad anyway. I'd much prefer to spend my money on REAL things like the lush retro adidas trainers i bought the other day... mmmm ;)

I admit, if I left habbo I would be very tempted to sell my furni on ebay (at a knock down price obviously) I wouldn't be asking stupid amounts for it, even if it was a throne! I think after paying enough money for my credits, to buy my furni, I should be able to sell them to someone else for money. I'm not going to be on habbo forever, so why let my furni be stuck in a room somewhere. Now, I'd probably give some of it away, but most people are arrogant and tend to get greedy as far as giveaways are concerned... So why not sell it and get the money back that you paid for it???
And yes, people do pay money for pixels. We pay for the credits which then pay for things like habbo club and furni.
It’s just a case of making sure you nitpick through the buyers and sellers reviews etc, before you actually make a bid on anything. I honestly think that paying £150 for thrones etc is way over the top, but if we paid for the credits to buy them, then how much would that actually cost us??? So what if sulake don’t get as much profit, they’ve constantly got money coming in anyway and we’ve already paid them for our pixels, but by selling them on ebay the money is coming back and someone else gets the furni.
